This topic has been an ongoing issue for our Alliance since the last major update. In the last 5 weeks we have not had a single new member join. As the leader I have lowered the medal requirements, advertised on the forums, advertised on Facebook with no success. Our Alliance is slowly withering away as people leave & can't be replaced.
Our Alliance can't be the only one experiencing this, it's almost like Nexon doesn't want the older Alliances to thrive as we were in the past. I am rapidly getting disenchanted by the lack of serious response to this issue by Nexon.

There's a sticky topic right at the top of this forum detailing Nexon's take on this. To spare you a click, here's the key bit:

For a long period of time, when searching for an Alliance in the Alliance Gate, the top active Alliances would have priority in the results. This caused those alliances to get a strong influx of new members on a constant basis, while new Alliances consistently received low placements. Though this was great for top Alliances, it made very difficult for smaller alliances to grow.\

With our latest update, we’ve altered the search function to act more random in order to give small and large Alliances an equal chance of showing up in the search results. If you want to look for larger Alliances, you can always raise the minimum medal count to a higher number to bring up more results. We realize that this has been a pain point for top alliances who previously received a steady influx of players. We hope everyone understands that this change was made to provide an even playing ground.

My alliance is dwindling too. We're the Elite Donators, but we don't even show up at all if you search for "Elite" or "Donators". I sure hope they make some move towards fixing this in the next update.

I have mentioned once before, Nexon needs to add a link in-game (maybe on the alliance seach page) to the 'Alliance Gate' forum. This will match make new players to already existing alliances. There, everyone can advertise to their hearts content for new players. Maybe this is something Seraphine can suggest to the developer team to possibly look into.

Another way is for you guys to put your alliance advertisement in your signature and chat more often in the forums. Every time you post something interesting or intelligent, people will see your advert. You will be surprised how many lurkers check out the forums looking for a new alliance.

That's how I and a few others found my current alliance.

My alliance is doing fine. While influx is significantly slower than before. We still get a new member every day or two. What the talking cow said is true. I've had a couple of messages from others who lurk, but I scared them off when I pointed to my rules in the alliance description or gave them more info.

I have a few in our clan that are in totally different time zones, thought it wouldnt work at first as its good to be on at the same time, but having that 75/25 split (25% being outside my TZ) is working really well for WW. This way we hit the other clan at anytime. You can tell when you war against a Korean or Japanese clan, they nearly always attack at the same time together as they very rarely dont let other speaking languages into their clans.. which is sort of sad, but understandable I guess.

Yup, noticed a drastic change. We were getting 1-3 a day. I had to drop trophies to 200, now we're finally back to getting 2-4 a day. Try the trophy drop brother.
and the developers are aware of the issue, they said in the next update "We will be adding a new way for alliance leaders to recruit members which will replace forums and facebook recruitment." Keep spamming facebook and forums with clans alliance leaders!!! Make them want to fix it faster!

I have been following this issue very closely, but I don't recall any of the NEXON/BHG folks saying the bit you quote. Where did you see it?

Having said that, we know we still have some other key features we need to improve on. In particular, we need to get War Replays into the game so people can help their Alliance mates get better at battle (and evaluate what went wrong during their attacks). We also are working on new ways for Alliances to recruit new members so they are not so reliant on posting to Facebook and forums.
