The wonder concept is great, but aesthetically speaking they often clash with civilization architecture. For example, I chose Acropolis in an age where my architecture is very generic, once I chose Japanese, the stone masonry of Acropolis and the Japanese WOODEN architecture is... odd, to say the least. I think it's better to start wonder construction starting at Iron Age, and the wonders need to reflect the civilization For example, it doesn't make sense for Chinese to make a Pyramid. In fact, Egyptian civilization isn't even in the game, and we have Cleopatra I think it's better to change "Wonders" into "Monuments". The problem is, in real world not all civilization has a wonder. Japanese does not have any (unless you count the Golden Temple, and I don't think it was counted), neither do the Germans. In contrary, the Chinese have Great Wall which did not make the cut and Terra Cotta wasn't part of the Wonders of the World. So, I think it's better to replace wonders with iconic monuments of each civilization. For example, French has Eiffel Tower, Britons have the Big Ben, Japanese has Golden Temple, that sort of thing :)

I like this, perhaps each nation could have generic monuments, ie statues, temples, towers etc, with each nation having a specific monument that replaces or adds to the list, like instead of a tower you get the Eiffel Tower as the French (at the correct age). Plus you can incorporate some of these things into regular buildings, for example, since the Chinese has the great wall, perhaps it can replace the walls you have currently, making it stronger and shoot at targets. Just my idea, what do you think?

I really like this idea. The historic aesthetic is one of the major reason why I play and like about this game. Really hate to have wonders that don't match my nations. Also, I notice the buildings are shared between nations, Japanese and Chinese looks the same. French and British, Greek and Roman.... hope this will change soon.

Point taken and I agree to an extent, but to be fair the Greeks ruled Egypt for about 300 years (Ptolemies) and then became vassals of Rome -- and then you have the Mongols on the borders of Western Europe and Egypt, so it's all good... :)

Some nations, such as Britain, France and Greece, controlled most of the known world, so do they get most of the wonders?
