With reduced base damage and increased TC health (due to roads) this patch, raiders/motos are having a hard time sniping a TC...what do think guys? have to change my stategy again...sigh

Yup it's shame that instead of incentivizing a greater use of mixed armies by offering more than 1 medal and fixing the no opponent issue, they're literally forcing us to take up mixed armies with these nerfs and defensive buffs. Problem is, that with all these defensive buffs including the roads, walls, command post, increased general cooldowns etc. its now harder to have a returning army than ever before without any battle timer increase. If they're able to milk more crowns from players this way then kudos to them but I think players will likely quit rather than wait close to an hour for a 1 medal battle.

Yes, it's tragic. This would be a better strategy game if we had to use the exact same tactic, over and over again, to be successful.

Give me a break.

This is a better game for me when theres a mix of units that wins returns home. Since thats not available

Raider sniping was an adequate option

Now thats gone our ability to grind gold and oil is heavily reduced. This doesnt affect crown players or someone like myself whos close to maxed out

But i do recognize that if i joined this game now i would have zero chance of getting to the point i have. Which is a pitty for all the new players

A lot of people play at low medal range where tc is exposed and they don't even take the victory. They just go full raiders and aim for the protected resource buildings. This will only affect players using raiders to climb medals.

It is clear the devs want us to use the same mixed army for full invasion. That's not adding variety, it's reducing it. Sniping is like a capture the flag way to win. And buffing the tc is clearly reducing any alternative way of playing the game, whether using raiders or something else.

A mixed army is by definition variety, as you can comprise the mix in enumerable different ways.

A Raider army is comprised purely of Raiders and thus is a one-trick pony. I'm not sure how you could arrive at any other conclusion- unless there is only one specific build of mixed army that can win at high medal range- in which case your point stands and I withdraw my previous comments.

The problem has nothing to do with variety. Variety is good. The problem is rather than fixing the problems that made high level players choose sniping in the first place, they're now dragging everyone into adopting mixed armies. And I wouldn't have a problem with that if it didn't take me 57 min to train my army for a one medal battle, only to lose it all when I don't destroy every Industrial defense.

But again where's the strategy in that if everyone is pushed to use mixed armies? To compete against the no opponent problems, broken medal system, broken peace treaties etc. players had to originally develop a strategy to climb this ridiculously uphill battle. That strategy became known as sniping and was the answer to a broken system. Now if the developer's goal with this update works, everyone will be using mixed armies, and eventually a single composition build will become popularized and widely adapted. At that point they'll probably nerf a random unit, say artillery. And I guarantee they'll do that before they fix the underlying problems.

It's obvious it's purely an attempt to cash grab more crowns from players. I mean you think this new 24 hr cool-down for generals really adds anything in terms of variety or strategy?

I need loot until I am industrial maxed out...it will take about a year...so I don't care about TC at all. Raider are perfect for raiding resources, otherwise use canons or stuff to destroy TC.

Judging from your comments (and many others echoing your comments) this game clearly has a lot of issues at IA/high medal level play that need to be addressed. Even players like myself grapple with the crashing problem- so even though I don't compete for medals, I feel your frustration at the wait time for retrain when I lose one of my armies to a game crash.

If, as you say, a single composition build becomes popularized and widely adapted, I agree that this would just be a case of something replacing the sniper army one-trick-pony (the flavor of the month, is how dbukalski once put it, I believe; which is a very apt description IMO). A good strategy game should allow for diversity of strategies, with multiple solutions to arrive at victory. In chess, for example, there are many different strategies and gambits that one my employ to arrive at checkmate. It should be the same with any strategy game. Figuring out different, creative ways to outfox your opponent is part of the fun. Only having one, successful method of getting the job done and having to use that method, over and over again, is not fun- it's a drag.

I have no idea what the ultimate motivation is for the devs when they implement a particular change. It could be, as you say, nothing more than crass attempt to gouge the customer base. But I think it's more likely that they've inherited a very flawed game, with code that is hideously easy to hack, and that they are finding that it is vastly more difficult to fix these problems than they originally anticipated.

As to the 24-hour cooldown for generals; no, I do not think it's a good change. I actively dislike it.

Theres no mix of units that wins at high level. The only thing that matters is whether ur a crown player that uses kitchen sink(hp and dps blessings, 5 tactics, aircraft, 2x lvl30 generals, 2x flame tanks(4 diamonds), reinforcements)

If u use most of the kitchen sink in every attack(only possible with crowns) then it hardly matters what else u put in ur army

Raiders was the free to play method for climbing medals and building ur base

Now im still raider sniping. But most people will be forced to use mixed army or try to snipe in some other way

Mixed armies are not viable at the highest level without kitchen sink heavy crown usage

Here's what I think Nexon would like us to do.

1. Anyone that's high EA or IA should drop down to under 800 medals so you can have fun plundering newbies. That'll leave room up top for new people to climb and reach 3200 medals.
2. Newbies will have to accept that this is how the game is payed and just bide their time. They should have an easy time climbing the ranks once they're in GA or early EA cos all the previous top players are having fun down the bottom.
3. Once the top players - who are at the bottom - are bored they start to climb again - which will be easy cos they'll be maxed out and unstoppable.
4. At this point the top players - who were newbies - realise that it's impossible to find a base they can beat (or any base for that matter) at the top and they start dropping down to under 800 so they can have fun plundering newbies. On the way down they might meet the former top players - who were at the bottom - climbing back up to get the medals.
5. Once the top players are back on top and the former top players are at the bottom the whole cycle starts again.

Eventually there will be so many maxed out players at the top - or at the bottom, it doesn't really matter - everyone will be at the same level ranking and at the same level medals and we will never again have a ''no opponents'' issue!!

It's all making sense now.

Here's what I think Nexon would like us to do:

1. Buy a lot of crowns.
2. Instant upgrade all your base
3. Instant train army, pay for generals cooldown, mercenaries and tactics every battle
4. Climb the medal ladder to reach the top
5. Buy more crowns to feed #3 and stay at the top

This is the business model that Loonies is threatening to break, hence he got removed from the leaderboard.

This game is becoming a pay-to-win game. They have removed almost every possibility for a non-crown user to reach the top of the leaderboard now.

well thats just sad...i admit that i payed a bit of money for things like starter pack and nation change but i wont use money to do those above mentioned... i hope there would still be a strategy where people wont have to resort into buying crowns...

But here's what really happens in 99% of cases:

1. Buy a lot of black market crowns.
2. Instant upgrade all your base
3. Instant train army, pay for generals cooldown, mercenaries and tactics every battle
4. Climb the medal ladder to reach the top
5. Buy more black market crowns to feed #3 and stay at the top for a while, then write a cheeky message with roads and leave.

This game is becoming a pay-to-win game. They have removed almost every possibility for a non-crown user, hacked or paid for, to reach the top of the leaderboard now.

There are probably 3 real hackers who do it for free for their own fun. Most hackers are in business to up shop selling 1,000's of crowns for $10

Nope. Watched a Bamboo video one day (months ago), YouTube kept playing vid's while I was on the phone/making coffee and 'How to hack' video's started popping up.

Wouldn't install unknown software or pay for crowns. Bought the start pack and that's it. Actually no need to buy crowns, even spending $100's of dollars achieves very little

Hmm if you want to keep using motos, you should not make this kind of comments on the forum :)

Otherwise, they'll nerf raiders again...
