Been stuck on level 299 digital age for months have upgraded most defensive buildings to at least digital. Still upgrading but the number remains on 299. Do i also have to upgrade useless stuff like roads, caravans and farms etc?
Yup, traps 1st, then farms u til it requires 4 workers, then same for caravans. Now barracks are worth upgrading and don’t forget about generals and other troops you use.
Roads won't give you a lot of xp now. I was planning to level up fast with it but now I am stuck at Digital Age for at least a year I think. I don't know if I 'm that patient.
In fact, those things you listed tend to give you a lot of XP and are among the best ways to level up
