How about a 2 day "trial" revolution - you pay 20% of the revolution cost and get to try it for 2 days. After the 2 days you have a choice - stay that way for another 90% (so it costs you 110% of the revolution cost to have a trial period) or go back to your previous nation.

This trial could only be used once per nation, so people couldn't just do this for war.

Better yet don't even allow the trial period to be used for war. Curious idea though. I could see that as a fun way to spend a weekend.

It shouldn't be able to be used for war as previously said, but I think that it could work well for trying out new troops and/or attacking styles.
