they are all i see in world wars... they get extra range cause of the library.

would a suitable nerf be to reduce their damage multiplier from 5x to 4 or 3 times?

No, they have only recently been of any use, to nerf them would take them right back where they used to be, useless. Just my opinion but we all need to adapt to situations which is what those using them have done, why punish them for doing so?

Agree with Flossy. A well organised base that overwhelms the mortars with defenders does well against mortars. Their slow fire rate is their achilles heel.

Combined with Monboost, there is no slow fire rate. And even in MP, without coalition boost, they are doing well.

Mortars are not unbeatable. My D base is defending most wars against every attack style, it is possible.

Well, if they need a coal boost what more needs to be said? I've tried them in mp with many accounts - of varying ages incl Drone - and despite their increased range they never do as well as bazookas/helis. I much prefer a fast attacking, relentless army that doesn't give defenders time to mount a defense. Plus, my own experience defending against them underscores their ineffectiveness. That's just my experience.
But I will concede they're heaps better than they used to be.

I am using them on an atomic account im MP and they are effective combined with fighters And with no museum boost. In war (with mongols and probably museum boosts) they are good as well due to the range of mortars and range siege. Its only a question of practice. Only landmines are an issue.
