Strategies for upgrading Gun Powder to Enlightenment

I have been stuck in Gun Powder age for many months now and I am curious on how so many players reach up to Industrial or Global age so fast without crowns. What is the strategy that players are using? Thanks!

It would depend on how active you are. I'm pretty active so I age up as soon as I can but if you don't play the game as often, I'd upgrade all my defensives before aging up.

I don't understand how it took you so long ?
I'm global age, everyday I take 1 or 2 training blessing and I do my attacks to farm and to maintain me around 2700 medals, I always have plenty gold, food and oil, the only thing what limits me are the number of workers and the time it take to upgrade buildings but even without crowns this doesn't take so long at gunpowder or enlightment age.

you need to loot/raid more. ALOT more.

I made 2 million in a day which allowed me to upgrade to industrial. (industrial takes 10days)

You need to pick loot bases good. I usually pick bases that are around my level. unless the base is loaded with loot at higher level (800k+)

Since my horse looters take 40mins to be made. (thats 31 horse raiders) I can attack every hour.

If every hour I get 300k in gold. thats roughtly 3 hrs for a million. SO i can easily get 3 million in a day or two just from raiding/looting gold.

My average food loot is 300k also, since my army only costs 30k. thats a huge profit margin.

Any gold I have in excesss, instead of letting it stagnate. I put into my walls. since I can easily loot 300k in gold per loot

haha I was in EA only as long as it took to have free citizens to upgrade to Industrial.

(upgrading is officially a pain in the ass, no crowns job)

I am currently as the British, and I've never bought crowns. I currently am in the enlightment age, ever since I got the game.

Just enjoy Gunpowder because it's easy there, once you get to EA you will be easy pickings for IA, get used to it. But to answer your question, just raid, raid, then raid some more. How quickly you progress will depend on how much you raid and how much you spend.
If you want to advance quickly don't spend money on things that don't help your raiding, eg: only spend money on troops you use, upgrade important buildings first (armory, mills, markets), upgrade defences at your leisure, etc, ...
