Unexplained medals losses

Well well well - shortly after I sent my last message I received this response from CS:

Wow, a clear and concise response from CS. Looks like they're finally upping their game. Nice work, Ravenlord.

And I think the handing out of crowns as compensation is very much dependent on each individual GM, so the whole thing's rather fickle. Some French players received crowns for the Consulate blunder, some didn't. Some received crowns after not getting war loot, some don't. I don't know what's the criteria here (firm and polite doesn't seem to work all the time, GailWho!), so it can be annoying. Especially if the GMs talk about ensuring fairness for all when explaining why they can't give out crowns, and their fellow colleague pops in and gives 500 crowns to someone else who raised the exact same issue.

My point exactly. If they're going to give it to some they should give it ''as a rule'' - or just say no to everyone. Not saying they should just hand it out but if it's justifiable - AND they admit it's a game error .....

Oh well, no point wasting energy on this right? Think I'll go play fetch with my cat for a while .....

The issue here is being caused due to the Battle Refactor that came in 4.0 [Patch Notes]. What is happening is that players are attacking your bases but either try the force quit exploit, have a connection issue, or crash sometime during the battle. The refactor will count that battle up until the game connection and server connection was broken. Therefore if this person was winning, you may lose medals. What is not working is that these battles are not being displayed in your battle logs. The dev team at BHG is currently looking into a fix for this so that the battles are shown and it no longer seems that medals are "going missing."

Sorry Seraphine - the issue in question is not about players attacking me but about the game recording a loss for me when l attack others. If l go into the battle timer, don't deploy any troops then leave it should not count as a loss. This never used to register as a loss but now it does. Even the reply from CS confirms this.

Please dont confuse the two issues. If someone is attacking me and the game crashes l take my loss as does everyone else. This is one issue.
If l enter the battle then leave, as l described above, l lose medals where I've never lost medals before. THIS is my current issue with CS.

Update: It's been 13 days since I first reported this glitch to CS. Despite numerous - and I mean numerous - messages to them, Nexon have continually - but politely - refused any type of compensation. I eventually went to Google to talk about getting a refund - which was something I didn't want to do as I don't see this as Google's issue. They're not the ones who developed the game which has affected all of us.

I have to hand it to Nexon's CS - despite all my messages and all my logical, heartfelt & compelling (at least, I thought so) appeals to their common-sense, sense of fair play and good nature - they were always polite and respectful when they continually told me things like ''we truly understand your frustration but we regret to inform you we cannot grant your request''.
And then they always end the message with the usual ''if there's anything we can help you with, please just let us know and we'd be more than willing to help you''. Well yes, Nexon, there is something you could do ........

Maybe the laws work differently where Nexon is based. At our company, if a product does not work as intended we replace the product or compensate the customer. But hey, that's just us. Nexon are happy to take your money even when their product doesn't work as intended. Even Seraphine has not 'yet' responded to my PM from a week ago.

I'm sure some people might say ''move on dude'' - and I have now - but at a certain point it I perversely kept going: it got to be more about ''doing the right thing for the customer'' than about getting compensation. If some of you have received compensation that's great news - if you haven't yet I'm not going to tell you whether to keep going or give up - I'm just relating my experience. Good luck to you if you're still in the fight. Me, I'm off to see my new GP base that I've been neglecting .....

Ive srsly found its what rep you get there. Theres so many turkeys there that out right say 'NAH youre getting zip' basically then you'll get one that all of a sudden will be way more understanding!. I do have to say though, Ive spent a fair bit on this game in the past and after my 3rd or 4th try drop that into the message, anything to sway their munted way of assuming we're all trying to jack them for a tiny couple of hundred crowns.. ppfftt :confused:

Yeah - like tiny bits of computer code are going to send them bankrupt!!

Anyway, I have made them aware, in no uncertain terms, of the money I've spent on this game. I'm not going to spend any more on Nexon but, while I will hardly make a dent in their earnings, I have four nations so this this is going to save me lots of money moving forward. I might just start buying my wife flowers for no reason ..... :D

I'd assume Google (and Apple) are the retailer (they take the money in their store) and so the contract is between you & them, not Nexon.

If the product is faulty you take it back to the retailer for fixing or a refund - not the manufacturer (despite what they'd try have you believe with 2 year warranties etc).

Incidentally I was perusing Apple's Developer T&C's, this game doesn't meet most of them and shouldn't even be on sale! Google's probably aren't much different.

I used to play each device about 1hr each per night then I got wise. Now I play one device a night for about 1 or 2 attacks and put the game down - much less stressful trust me. I enjoy the nice big farm & caravan yields I get after logging in to a base 3-4 days later !!

Plus, and maybe it's just me, I swear my people wave at me when I log on! :cool:

Personally I don't think it's a bug - I'm convinced the servers don't record the battles quickly enough in real time. You can have a complete win and then have a connection issue, then the game will go back to it's last stable recording of the battle and your log will show a much lower percentage of the game was actually played.
Has happened to me a couple of times including one where I had a 100% win, returned to base, started retraining and then crashed - the log showed I didn't even get 2 stars let alone a 75% win.

But yeah - she missed the point.

You're right, the payment ''contract'' is between Google & myself - it just would've been nice if Nexon had shown a little ''proper'' understanding toward me (and others) and even a token gesture of some crowns (however meaningless) would've been a welcome gesture. Given that they've handed out crowns for less I just thought ....

Anyway, I gotta hand it to CS - as much as I dug in my heals they were equally intractable. Well, clearly they're better at it than me!! :cool:

I received another message from CS today. It was to tell me that it's not their intention to frustrate me. They also said that they are thankful to have players such as me who shares my personal thoughts because it helps them improve the game.........
They also value my feedback as a way to improve player experience.......
They finished by saying I can check the progress of this issue by checking the forums regularly - they were even kind enough to include a link to the forums ...........
