Update 4.5 Patch Notes

We have an alliance member from India saying the patch is out, assuming this means the rest of us will see it in the next 24 hours... are the two extra days needed to handle behind the scenes dev stuff before the leaderboard goes live or is it a precautionary waiting period?

Just had the idea for a cool new library Technology. The category would be decoy and it could have the following four techs,..

level 1: Decoy resource building - alllows you to make one of your resource building look like the vault and vice versa, only to attacking opponents.
Level 2: Decoy defensive building - allows you to make a barracks, stable, ballista or mortar look like any other building - and vice versa. Swap only appears when opponents attack.
Level 3: Decoy Walls - allows you to randomize the appearance of your walls - or change some so they look higher or lower lvl.
Level 4: Decoy Town Center - alllows you to make your town center look like one of your barracks and vice versa, only to attacking opponents. This could be a major advantage in WW defense and would mix things up in a fun way.

Could make it so true identity is revealed once a decoyed structure is attacked.

What do y'all think?

I mean, I'm definitely trying to brag... You actually only mentioned these as buildings... Not tactics.

A quick search on the forum would show you I'm the only one to suggest this as a tactic 😬

Decoy seems a little OP at first glance, but will give it more time to form a solid opinion on it.

Well, only a few come to mind, so far -

Scanner sweep - A tactic that runs a full scan of your enemy's base (or just within a given radius) revealing all traps. Additionally, if this felt overpowered, the traps could only be revealed for 15 seconds or so. (Armory upgrades would increase the time by 2+ seconds each, and/or the scanner radius)

Decoys - A number of units, within the tactic radius, would be cloned in order to confuse enemy soldiers and defensive buildings. Cloned units do no damage and receive limited health. (Armory upgrades would increase the number of units, within the radius, that can be cloned. Similar to the betrayal upgrades)

...I'm sure there's an entire thread on this somewhere, but feel free to post any new/upgraded tactic ideas below!

Great update however, WHY did you make the university a gold demanding building when there is nowhere to use food?

From what I gather, the Alliance Glory points will get awarded for wars starting after Friday, July 15th (7/15/2016) at 14:00 UTC. I believe that's the reason we've been asked to hold off on starting new wars till then.
I received the update last night too, and we won an ongoing war after receiving the update, but, there were no glory points gained from the war.
This is just my assumption, based on my observations, but, I'll let Nb4powerup or Seraphine confirm this. :)

Nice update:

However, the main issue at hand is still the feeling of the endless grind without a purpose:

Perhaps the devs can look to make the game more enjoyable if it is less grindly by reducing the downtime (waiting 12 days for a tank depot upgrade while you have no remaining workers)

Taking some advice from the ideas section

1) make heroes/generals gain XP via building and troop kills, the XP contributes to a reduction to both time and resources needed to upgrade the said general (capped at 5~10k(?) oil and 8 hours)

2) remove the gold requirement to search for battles

3) remove the resource requirement to retrain troops : makes the game less fun, discourages donations.

4) reduce the time needed to train tactics by at least 50% (again, to encourage more raiding)

5) make training blessing affect aircraft as well

Some of these changes can be implemented in the form of an Event to try things out.

Balance Changes
  • Increased damage of Tanks by 8% and Medium Tanks by 11%
  • Troops are slightly more likely to target defensive towers in battle
  • Players can only claim one of each type of unique army from the inventory at a time (down from four)
  • Transports will now be targeted by air towers
  • Reversed the order of the World War battle screen list, now newest battles list first
  • Fixed incorrect number of generals showing on Castles/Forts in World Wars
  • Generals no longer exit their Fort to attack Aircraft

Still no nerf to submachine gunners and/or buff to mortars and assault infantry. Ridiculous...

Good effort in coming up with it, but I'm not in favor of any of it to be honest. In fact I'm not sure if I like the decoy tactic either. starting to feel it's way overpowered.
