Upgrading Coalitions

Has anyone upgraded their coalitions at the armory? Has it been worth it, considering that it costs more national trade goods to obtain it the next time around? If it was worth upgrading, can you please share which coalition you upgraded? Thanks!

I am looking at the Coalition upgrades and thinking +2% for 2 more national trade goods?? No, thank you!

Perhaps I haven't tried them long enough, but I'm not really seeing a difference. I generally 4/5 star my opponents in war and the coalitions haven't changed that.

Great! Do you carry offensive or defensive coalitions?

Empire, I've tried both, but I don't see a real difference on offense and I haven't been attacked on defense. But I don't usually get attacked in war unless it's a Global Age enemy.
