Started my main level 260 CWA account in November 2015. Just returned from a 3 month Marvel Strike Force induced sabbatical. While both games are shameless about their overpriced offers and pay-to-win aspects that's where the similarities end. MSF basically requires you to put in 45 minutes to 2 hours a day to keep up with the Joneses and not fall hopelessly behind, this game you can take as long as you want off, reset your traps, and pick up right where you left off. There's a certain relaxing quality to that but it's also the game's Achilles heel. Waaaaaay too much down time in this game once you reach late game. Sure, you can chase wall pieces and generals upgrades seemingly forever but those have some significantly diminishing returns once you achieve a certain level to them.
I pretty much can only be bothered to go to war once every week or two. Between the proliferation of cheats and the fact that there are so many hidden variables that it's difficult to form a strategy in this supposed strategy game I don't see the appeal anymore. Honestly though, it's the endless and tedious scavenger hunt for NTG'S in late game where certain nations are woefully underrepresented that's the biggest impediment.
I also have a 170 global and 138 industrial but defense is so overpowered and troop rebuild times are so long now that I can only be bothered with those accounts maybe a few times a month to put workers on the relatively cheap, if unsatisfying, uni tasks.
Essentially if I hadn't maxed my CWA offense, finished Amelia and Saladin and managed to get good loot boosting artifacts during the early days of the museum before the rebalances I would have probably quit ages ago. Nowadays I basically play this game as an excruciatingly slow and small-scaled version of Sim City ( Sim Neighborhood?) mostly due to inertia. It's fine, even mildly relaxing, to log in once a day, collect resources, donate, chat, do 6 battles for my chests and call it a day. Once a fortnight I may do a training blessing if I need some big expensive oil thing. Frankly though if I get 25,000+ oil a day from my wells and build times take 15 days there's usually little reason to do even that.
I have two medieval and an iron account as well, but the game is so unfun and the deck stacked so far against new players/accounts that I haven't touched those since New Years. It's bad enough that it would take years of tedious grinding to make them viable, but the odds of them every getting remotely useful loot artifacts in the museum pretty much killed my desire to even touch those again.
Tl; dr: The game is more habit than pastime to me these days. I've gone from hours a day rotating 6 accounts to maybe 2 hours a week, and that's only because I was near the top before all of the poor choices the devs have made in the last year. I couldn't imagine trying to start from scratch today. This game is remarkably resilient, but it's pretty much on auto-pilot at this point. I suppose that's good enough for BHG since 90% of the updates just seem to make things harder for newbies.
