Almost everybody found lack of workers: We need worker for gathering, for exploration, for wall building, university and upgrading buildings.
But Nexon also need to make money from rush with crown.
What number you think will be best balance between players and Nexon (without Chinese Bonus, Opera and estate)?

since everything seems to take 50% more workers AND more time in GA and AA, we really do need more workers. Increasing both the time and workers required is a double penalty that is completely ridiculous.

I agree, even oil wells require 3 workers instead of 2 for the last 2 levels in Atomic (and it fathoms me to understand who would ever upgrade their farms to max level with increasing number of workers). Also Nexon, notice how the voters didn't pick the highest option in the poll. We're not the ones being ridiculous, you are.

Let me provide you some numbers:

To max buildings (Excluding Farm / Caravan), and no university
From Dawn to Enlightenment: 5 months
Industrial : 6 months
Global : 7 months
Atomic : 9 months

And for University:
Roughly speaking, it required 4 workers to work 18 months

And now we can see why Cold War still "Coming Soon" after more than 1 year of atomic, because most active player still at mid Global or early Atomic.

workers bottlenecking is the worst thing in this game, i really wonder what's the point of hunting and gathering if ur forced to put all workers into work
massive increase in number of worker's requirement with almost 200% after university, AA worker shooting, without a single extra worker in return
not just workers but also time upgrades take make u set and watch the game plays itself for a week or two
i have no hopes nexon will fix this imbalance cuz all they care for is money, and with CWA more rushed bases, with more p2p players maxmizing their bases and troops obliterating everyone around

Since this game is modeled after CoC, so let's take CoC as reference here. It has 5 workers in late game

so if we take AA castle for example, we would need 40 workers
AA garrison and tank depot, we would need 30 workers
AA other defense buildings, we would need 20 workers

you put university on top of it, we need at least double above number just to match CoC progress time.

32 seems ridiculous, yeah, but if we had that number (24 is still quiteok for me), we all could advance faster and faster. We could upgrade a lot of buildings at the same time, save 1-2 workers for hunting and wall improving, and still have for university (idk if for dock too). Despite of the big number, i think its the best choice (or 24 as I said). The problem with this kind of games, its the further you go in the game, the longer it takes to upgrade everything and see new things. If we could upgrade more things, or at least have shorter times (for all, specially university, its so stupid to have to wait 7 days for 1% in something...). Newcomers would be able to reach AA in a year if Im not wrong, and the rest of the player base would be happier and would spend more money because they enjoyed the game so much. Even more and more would come, since as Ive just said games like this have the time problem (Nexon could steal some players to CoC, anyway they have too many xD).

This is good business model but not the one that Nexon is applying. They are counting on frustration instead of positive reward/motivation. Other games like BoomBeach had a less agressive business model...SuperCell is doing it differently...

Historically, technology has been making building times shorter too, not longer. Historically, once we were in Atomic age, we could simply build a turret instead of a ballista tower that we'd need to upgrade through 10 ages. Don't try to apply reason here, it doesn't work.

University should've been like library, with crowns to open up additional slots like armory. Maybe even up to 5 slots, with an increasing amount of crowns for each one. Too late now though.

does it really matter?

given we are all in the same situation making the same choices ... technically it doesn't matter.
if we had enough workers to get close to 'endgame' they would need more content and move the goalposts....

so .... atomic upgrades requiring an extra worker... doesn't matter. being frustrated with it makes sense if this were a single-player game.

admittedly i don't much like the idea of things taking longer the farther you go in .... that tension is part of how this flavor of game works.
given that is the design let it be what it is. NXN will focus on tweaking it to maximize fun and give a reasonable upgrade path.

Why are there no options for less workers? Please make a reasonably balanced thread. Seems like you just want to get everything done in a day.

Maybe in Cold War age there'll be a Mansion which houses 6 more people, costs 13million gold plus a kidney, and doubles as a safe house for commie sympathisers?
