What are the rules for league demotion?

What are the rules exactly for when you are demoted in a league? I'm looking for specifics here, not generality.

In Silver I and Silver II leagues it seems like I can drop 100 medals below the league requirements before I'm demoted. Except, it seems, if I earn a medal while below some threshold. I was just demoted at 925 medals only after earning a 2 star victor (previously I ran a number of raiding runs that were losses and was not demoted during that process). When I was close to 1000, around 990 I recall winning battles while I was under the 1000 mark for Silver II league and not being demoted. So it's a little confusing to understand.

I'm trying to understand the exact algorithm here.

-100 from the beginning of league. So if league starts at 2000 you need to get 1899 to drop down 1

That's what I thought, but I got demoted from Silver II to Silver III at 925 medals after a 2-star victory. Silver II league starts at 1000, so that shouldn't have happened if it's -100 from the beginning of the league.

If you are idle and move either up or down out of a league's medal range (due to defenses and such), you'll remain in that league until either launching an attack or until leagues reset periodically. With this, it's possible that you dropped below 900 medals while idle (remaining in the league), launched an attack, and then simultaneously moved above 900 and dropped to Silver III as a result.
