When are we finally going to admit that the British faction is overpowered?

I'm just curious if people are still in denial about how strong the British are. I've argued for ages that the British are too strong, mainly because of their unique troop which is clearly better than anything else (except MAYBE the French tank). Getting extra loot is just icing on the cake in a game where offense trumps defense.

I'd say a good 75-80% of my defense log has British players attacking me. An unusually high % of my attack log is against British players as well. I have tons more Wood than any other coalition resource.

So are we ready to finally start admitting that something is out of whack here?

I guess I really am the only one who thinks that +1 range isn't even worth a roll of toilet paper.....

Chinese archers reign supreme!

Mr Suplex, you really need to chill out.

You have been going on about this for ages.

However now I read it gives you wood and that explains a great deal.

What are you talking about? .. Ive rolled many Brit camps with ease, also the Korean rifleman is just as strong and with the same range. The Korean nation is very good too.

Edit// I have tons of Chinese pots (or tea whatever) .. most my attacks have been on Chinese camps

Agreed. I've overflowing with tea, silk, cheese, and marble, most of the time, while timber is hard to come by.
It's probably got to do with the medal ranges one is playing in.

I can second the battle log consisting only of brits that defeat me completely.
Other nations only go for TC sniping and leave...

What goods you are overflowing with and what are scarce does depend on what medal range you are in. My Global base is full of cheese and enough wood to build another shed to store it in. So far only a single towel and a couple of teapots. That is at 2800+ medals where the only opponents are British, French, Romans, Germans and a few Koreans, but at this level you only attack anybody with lots of medals so whatever trinkets they have are irrelevant.

My other account is Medieval down at 600 medals, and that is full of scrolls, teapots, some broken vases, a few towels and wood (Phnarr). Tend to avoid Japanese at this level, the TC is a bit dangerous.

Instead of switching what trinkets are needed to get coalitions, they should have changed what nations supply what. A nice bit of Wensleydale for the Brits, most towels seem to be made in China.

But on the range part, this a flaw in the crappy game engine, +1 range! Why not a range of XYZ metres like 99% of most modern games, then it could have been tweaked. British did have extra range back in the longbow days, pretty sure their rifles where no better than anybody else come WW2

The British are strong, but, we are probably at a sweet-spot where the Germans are nearly as strong too, with the French, Koreans, and Romans coming close enough to present themselves as viable choices, with their own nation bonuses and/or unique units. Nerf the British, and they'll join the Greeks and Japanese at the bottom, leaving one less viable nation choice. It happened with the Japanese with the nerf to the heavy infantry, and it will happen with the British too with a nerf to the ranged infantry.
With non uniform nation powers and unique units, there will be some amount of imbalance between the nations. But, it's not at a stage where the British are extremely overpowered to necessitate a nerf.
Instead, some form of buff to the Greeks, Japanese, and Chinese will make the game play more interesting.

I do think the British are OP without much effort. But I'm not too bothered by it.

In my opinion it's not that much fun to play the British. From my replays, 10 out of the 10 British players all hit me with the same army and use the same technic. Their make up is mostly rifles and arts/hows.

But like I said I'm not too bothered about it now. All you have to do is find the right technic to counter those rifles and arts. But I can tell you it wasn't easy finding the right one.

Mr Suplex - dude l feel your pain - by now most of the forum does, but here's a thought: if Nexon isn't going to change the brits - and l doubt they will - why don't you direct your energies to something positive? How about campaigning for a buff or balance instead??!
