it could be without workers and let time element determines the diversity
requiring workers will just slow main upgrades too much

lol, don't worry then dominations journey will be endless... except for cheaters that will run over our bases, these upgrades are too powerful if completed by cheaters and there is no way u can prove they have them all maxed

Not only workers shouldn't be necessary for the research, but time should be significantly reduced. You can't have to play for 5 years to do it all. You are just going to discourage players eventually, especially when there are so many cheaters still in the game.

you forgot to add the 5 levels of the university you'll need in order to unlock the higher tiers of research :p

it does. the cost and duration of research goes up with each level of each research item. not necessarily the number of workers though.

sorry cant post screenshots, but trust me: you'll like them.
the different leaders (and you can use them all!) have different upgrades available. some boost your barracks troops, others boost your defensive structures (health, damage, upgrade cost reduction) and each leader has a unique skill at the end of their tier (you need to have 100 levels in the respective upgrades and then research it).

build the university already. you'll not regret it.

I'm a bit iffy about the use of workers. however, I think it's a great addition to the game but I think 3 or 4 is a bit much.

I would be OK with it if Nexon would add an additional house into the mix so I can increase my workers.

Just finished one of the Researches and didn't get XP, so it looks like levels won't be going up too much higher.

To me it seems like the university is a great addition. Agree with those who say it will force specialization.....and very much agree with the fact that it will be near impossible to max except for cheaters. I would say that it could be a great way to find cheaters if Nexon wanted to run a simple script, but they havent done that with walls so I doubt it will be done here, cheaters will have max research soon if they dont already. Id buy crowns were it not for this.

**Edit**
However, after understanding the escalating time required to do each step, and the fact it takes 2 years to max just one line....I think the time required for it is totally unreasonable. If it were 3-6 months to max a line naturally, I could somewhat understand and agree with it. But for now, the way it is implemented, it is only something that will be abused by cheaters, and be of questionable benefit to everyone else. Really kind of disappointing, because other than the time required, it is actually a really neat feature.

I haven't seen the full list of research subjects yet, but from a video on YouTube it looks like one of the "capstone" abilities is reducing the number of workers needed to do university research. Unless more than one Great Leader offers that, it seems like anybody who's not cheating or spending thousands of dollars in crowns will make a beeline for that upgrade. So I very much doubt there's going to be a lot of diversity in peoples' research choices, at least for the first 100 levels.

yes, unfortunately it will take 2 years of constant upgrading to get that "capstone" power. I just hate that it forces you to research so much useless stuff like hp increase for the university and temple. Who the heck cares about that?

I love the addition of the university it is going to make the game so much more diverse. I like many others though are worried about cheaters being able to max these out and make it almost impossible to take their bases. With so many cheaters out there it is about time to start investigating ways to shut down hacks and cheats for good. I think with the addition of 1 more house this will help tremendously with being able to do upgrades in the University. Also was reading that these researches don't count towards EXP which they should. That way CS and players can monitor big jumps in EXP

so each sub-level of upgrades increase the time required as well. That means for a SINGLE LINE of research, it takes 2+ years to complete, tying up 3 workers. Sorry, but that is totally ridiculous. Even dedicating 7 workers to the university all the time, it will take SIX YEARS to finish all the research. Seriously, that's insane. I don't expect to be playing this game for 6 years. And it's not like buying a few crowns will make it easier, as it will require thousands of dollars worth of crowns to finish the research. Not many are willing to do that.

I've love to see a "Design Highlight" on how they figured these times and worker requirements were a good idea. I mean the library is ok, as it can be maxed in a year or so and doesn't require workers, but the university is ridiculous. The average player will never enjoy even 20% of the content of the patch.

On the good side, if someone asks me about my studies, i can proudly say that i graduated from the university after 6 years of hard work and i wouldn't be lying.
