v5.5.X ‘DomiNations 2 Year Anniversary’ update is here!


Marco Polo, the Traveling Merchant
  • Marco Polo now periodically visits your town to offer his wares!
  • Trade with him for Troop Tactics, Event Buildings, National Trade Goods, and more!
Friendly Challenges (Not yet activated!)
  • Challenge your Alliance members in practice battles to hone your strategy
  • Create your own Challenges to test out new Town and War Base layouts
  • Friendly Challenges don’t consume troops, medals, or resources!
New University Leader: Amelia Earhart
  • Research Amelia Earhart’s skill tree at the University to bolster your air force and oil economy!
  • Harness the power of her Capstone Skill, The Ninety Nines, which gives you +1 additional air capacity
New World War Tie-Breaker
  • If two Alliances finish a World War with the same number of stars and average destruction, the winner is now determined by who has the least amount of time elapsed in battle
  • In ties, winning your battles as fast as possible is the key to winning the war!
  • Only the time elapsed from the best attack against each War Base counts
New Atomic Age Upgrades
  • Farms and Caravans can now be upgraded to level 18
  • Oil Wells can now be upgraded to level 6
  • The University can now be upgraded to level 6
  • Fighters and Bombers can now be upgraded to level 18
  • Transports can now be upgraded to level 12
Other Improvements
  • A new ‘Recommended Upgrades’ button has been added next to the Store button to provide advice on what to upgrade next
  • A Quick Victory star timer has been added to the battle HUD for easier tracking in battle
  • Improve your strategic planning with more information on the World War Scouting screen
  • The Announcements window now has tabs so you don’t miss out on discounts, sales, events, and updates!
Performance Improvements
  • Improved performance and stability on older devices
  • Fixed a handful of rare crashes
Balance Updates
  • Betrayal, Protect, and Sabotage Tactics now cost 2 Tactics Capacity (was 1)
  • War Academy level 5 (Enlightenment Age) now provides +1 Tactics Capacity (was +0), increasing Tactics Capacity by 1 from Enlightenment Age onward
  • Stronghold now spawns the any remaining donated Troop Tactics when destroyed
  • Fixed Atomic Age HP for French Consulate, Khan Dais, Zulu Kraal, and Long House (was 1600, is now 1950)
Bug Fixes and Improvements
  • Prevented a crash when dropping Troop Tactics in battle
  • Fixed a crash on the battle results window
  • Prevented a rare crash when going into World War battles
  • Fixed a crash caused by claiming a tactic without a War Academy
  • Game no longer crashes when tapping on the Aztec Temple
  • Fixed a disconnect caused when players sped up University research
  • Fixed an issue where adding or removing Troop Tactics from the Stronghold could cause them to be lost or duplicated
  • Troop Tactics are now included in the World War battle prep window
  • Stronghold properly updates with when new Troop Tactics are added
  • Same Troop Tactics with different levels will now appear sorted alphabetically
  • Fixed an issue causing too many donated troops to spawn in World War battles
  • Offensive Blessings now show up in Attack History even if only Troop Tactics were used on offense
  • Coalitions more reliably appear in the World War map
  • Fixed an issue where the wrong image could appear in the Announcements window
  • Fixed bonus Trade Goods not appearing on the battle results screen
  • Sneaky units like Commandos no longer trigger the S.A.M. Battery trap
  • Prevented an exploit allowing buildings to be stacked on top of each other
  • Players can now view Active Troops in Factory and Airstrip info windows
  • Players can now access friends’ Alliances through Alliance Friends tab
  • World War now displays total attack duration in place of average attack duration
  • Added attacks used and battles won to World War banner in World War report window for Battle, Alliance, and Enemy tabs
  • Clarified message when claiming a Troop Tactic reward from an event
  • Added "please wait" message when claiming Expedition rewards
  • Improved messaging for “Finish Now” or “Instant” finishing University research
  • Tower Blessing now correctly indicates that it buffs the Stronghold
  • Teutonic Fury buff effects now appear in World War battles
  • Added clarification text to Blessing descriptions: (An attack must deal 10% or more damage to your town to consume this Blessing)
  • Event building info windows now display correct stats in Bronze and Iron Ages
  • Offensive blessing info windows in Attack History now show applied buffs
  • Stradioti UI portrait no longer displays Hussar image
  • Security improvements
  • Minor art and text fixes

This is Clash of Clans December 2015 update all over again. Same MO, push an update that ruined completely the game, changing the basic core... Than nothing, no reply no comments nothing for like 3 months. People were raging and quiting all over forums, Facebook, YouTube... But Supercell remained quiet. For them it was best plan ever. Yes they lost about 3 million players in December and January, but they didn't give a shiit. New players were still pouring and they had no clue its a completely new (bad) game.
My friends, this is happening and the change is here to stay just be thankful we don't have (still) few thousands idiots to spam every conversation with "learn to adapt losers, stop whining".
Everything you are now enraged over is for nothing. Making money and keeping happy those who spend is far more important than any 5$ (starter pack) dude who is very angry now. They will completely ignore us and they won't revert anything.
The key difference, though, Dominations is not CoC(k)... They wont stand very well when half players will quit. They probably have less total players than those who quit CoC. Unfortunately for us, it doesn't matter. Whales will be delighted we quit. More resources to loot for them, easier everything, they'll keep pumping the money. By the time they realize they're alone in the server, Nexon will fill its pockets and just move on to another game.
It is the reality of all successful games. They don't do this so you can be happy, they are in it for the money. Obviously!

Most deliveries are welcome in this new update. Now, regarding the new tactics balance, I believe Nexon made a BIG HUGE mistake.

I play with the French Nation in the Atomic age, usually using 3 sabotages, 2 betrayals and 1 protection. I rarely get 5stars against players with similar level. Defenses are already strong enough.

By cutting my tactics by half I don't see how Nexon will make the balance. Most active players are doing what? A tracking or defending? Nexon should always privilege that and make the game more enjoyable.

i do hope Nexon to review that change.

Nothing new yet on improved matchmaking, but the theory behind the World War tiebreaker changes puts sandbagging Alliances at a disadvantage. Since this type of Alliance is bringing under-powered bases to War, attacking said base should take less time and help reduce the total elapsed time of your Alliance.

Hi Jarl!

You are correct, the Enlightenment Academy is getting a new bonus to Spell Tactics space (giving it a +1 when you advance to level 5). This space bonus will be accounted for if your War Academy is already more advanced than that. We know a number of players are very frustrated with these new Tactic changes, but we will be monitoring it closely as the 5.5 update is rolled out to all of the players.

I really wanted to address your other point about the Beta for World War replays and I can do so with a resounding YES! They will be available in the coming weeks, and we will be posting in all of our regular channels (here, Facebook, Twitter) when Beta access is live.

Playing the game for about one and a half year, maybee a bit longer, was spending me a lot of fun. For this fun it is allwright to pay money, the developers, the company and so on has to live and earn money. But the last updates are changing the game into something like the slot machines in vegas. When you took korea and the other eastern countries into the game, i thought it would be great to get many more players worldwide. They might play in an other way, but that is ok in my opinion. But now you are doing the worst to your game you can, you are killing your favorite players and allies and you are telling everyone who gets a little bit understanding of the rules of online-games: STAY AWAY, BEWARE YOUR MONEY!

Sorry for my not so perfect english, i am from germany, but i hope for me, my ally , any other player and at least for you: Think about your last update, please.

Way to go nexom!!! The only thing worth it for us play for free common folk, about 85% of the players, was th r friendly alliance challenges which wasn't activated. Why? Were there glitches with it, so instead of wait to do the release and fix it, u rushed the update through so the pay to win whales will be happy. Why fix the alliance challenge, u make no money off it!!!

Under which merit will this chance if yours come? EA and GA will go from 3 or 2 sabotages and 1 protection and maybe something else (which is most optimal) to 1 of each or 2 of each and thats it. Thats not practical in any way since that 1 sabotage or one of them will have to necessarily go the TC to block the alliance troop that in all likelihood will either stall the attack or wipe haalf the army before they are targeted. and thats just EA below w/o accounting from the stronghold change versus wealthy alliances that either buy the tactic troops or have invested heavily in the docks (or just plain hoarded the things from past events).

Which brings us to the nightmare of IA where we NEED the sabotages, NEED betrayal for at least 1 mk tank least we want to waste a lot of time killing it and NEED the protection least we want the anti tank guns to 2 shot the tanks of non french/greek nations if allowed to freely shoot. mind you we have to go from been able to use all three betrayal, protection and sabotage in a healthy amount to needing to drop one. Problem amplified for the ever living threat now of the stronghold which can spawn troops even after destruction. Do you understand the problem with this?

Sorry to hear you are feeling frustrated and not communicated with. I hope we can fix that in the future.

The changing of the Tactics cost is part of a multi-step process of bringing a balance to attackers and defenders. Instead of reducing the effectiveness of these Tactics, the decision was made instead to make them more valuable. The team will be watching this closely to ensure the balance is what was intended with the change.

Why not buff the useless first aid, barrage and demo tactics to encourage people to use them instead of halving sabo and protect capacity? At the very least you should have doubled capacity as well so current battle strategies that have been carefully and meticulously formed and perfected wouldn't be affected. There was nothing wrong with the tactic system the way it was.

I think this update totally ruined the game and took out the player's skills. After this update, all wars are based on pay to win instead of abilities.

Nexon, you are saying that you have made these changes to balance the attack and defense? But the opposite is actually the true. If you wanted to balance the offense and defense you could easily just double every building hit points and end with it. It would solve the problem.

But now with every normal tactic tacking 2 spaces and Stronghold spawns anyway, how do you expect people to have a chance to 5 star some base? Especially those who has a Bazooka towers inside their base (which is crazy by itself) and 4 cards of howitzers 5 each card in Stronghold? There is no chance! (I'm a Koreans as a nation in the game)

I understand your will to gain money which is also ok and that's why you have created this game and I understand it but there many other ways to do it. I have also bought the estate since it gave me an advantage and you should think about those good selling deals like the estate to keep making money. But please leave the war to be won by abilities not by money! It takes out all the fun out of the game and I've been playing these game from the start. Or you will start seeing people starting to quit this game even the buying stuff ones.

Please bring back the tactics spots to 1 capacity for all of them. If you want to make a defense stronger there many ways but not this one you made with this update.

I was just pondering the game and some of the issues that players are commonly frustrated with, and I came up with something!

THIS IS A BRILLIANT IDEA! Players seem to irritated that there aren't enough raiders, saboteurs, and mortars in war attacks, so CLEARLY Nexon should double the troop space of siege, ranged infantry, healing carts, and barrack heavies (and for you HT people, double that troop space as well!). That way players will use more of these other troops! SOLUTION! I am so smart that I could work at Nexon.

you are discounting the fact that they are often bringing 23 atomic so as well.... you just demonstrated you have no concept of what sandbagging is

can you explain why the change to the stronghold?? This change and the change to tactics will limit the ability of younger age players to hit up. Whilst I appreciate you are trying to bring balance to the game.. these are big changes that affect a lot of our EA IA accounts who we need to hit globals in war due to the addded iron accounts. You won't fix sandbagging for us and now you remove the tools we need to try and compete.

Also so game chat is still stuffed ... what is happening with that... fixing that should have far higher priority than releasing your update

also... can you pls confirm that the bug that was ranking players incorrectly in war has been fixed?
