Arguments for staying in AA or moving on to CWA

So this is obviously for players who are above level 220. I am wondering what are your thoughts and I would like to hear from your perspective why you think it is best to stay in AA (and for how long) or why you would recommend moving into the CWA as soon as possible?

Given that you can still attack Global age as CWA, what possible downside is there?

Events and quests will be slightly more difficult to complete, but that's the only con I can think of.

For me the criteria is as a minimum to have maxed your attack GA: factory, barracks, aerodrome (only the troops used in multi and war).
Then, if you do wars, to have 3 generals level 36 as minimum.
The next criteria is to have important defense maxed (mortars, anti-tank, air defense, silo, bunkers).
Then, in this case you can consider moving to CWA.

You can still hit the same ages (and vice versa) so no benefit in waiting and many benefits for upgrading. If a person is 220 the decision is a no brainer

+1 on moving to CWA, your attack pool is identical to AA but your troops and defenses are stronger. This is the first time I'd say there are no drawbacks to early advancement. Nexon really didn't think this one through.

The only possible drawback is that they fix this retroactively once they realize they screwed up with that decision.

I don't think it's important to maximize a silo. Level 1 silo kills shooters and howitzers in one shot and can't kill tanks. Level 3 silo... just the same, so what's the big difference? +1 for moving to CW because of two reasons: to make my armory busy again with upgrades and to reach that new oil production boost at the library.

The difference is hp. A higher leveled silo is harder to take down by planes.

Just so everyone is aware - cwa can match global age. But they face the standard 50% loot penalty for attacking two ages down, instead of the 10% for one age down. There is a downside to moving up.

And the 2 week long upgrades? Is that a no brainer too? This is the reason I'm still on the fence.
I had enough of AA upgrade times, I don't want to think about CW times.

Why so impatient? Wow this new generation wants that instant gratification. My generation had all the patience of Shaolin priests. Shameful display.

Aside from this joke, 1-2d increase is under 10% of an increase. Yes the number of upgrades is huge but then when you do get the offense ones then you just play the waiting game.

I think there is no loot penalty for hitting lower age then yours in dominations. Therefore i would upgrade immediately and max my offense only because of wars.

This is incorrect. There is a loot penalty in multiplayer, just as there is in war. It is just that you normally don't see it much in multiplayer, as you can't attack two ages down.

Have a global in your alliance post a friendly challenge, multiplayer base. Then have people in global, atomic and cold war check the available loot. You will see the penalty clearly - 10% for one age up, 50% for two. If you don't have a cold war player, you can post an industrial base and check with global / atomic.

I'm waiting because I consider the CWA attacking GA to be either a mistake on Nexon's part, or a temporary state of affairs. I think they'll patch that at some point.

If it's still the case 2-3 months from now I'll probably advance.

I dont see any difficulty to attack an atomic base.
To upgrade into CWA, you need to be at least 220. And you should already maxed attack with fairly strong defense,

A lot of anti-silo tactics don't involve planes, so it's not about the level, it's more about position of the silo. So I would say that upgrading silo is a low priority, it does it's job well if it is placed good enough)
Sorry for commenting myself, I can't find an option to comment your post.

KniferX , these days l spend about 20 mins a week logging in and just farming. What's my incentive to do that for another 8 months?
I think I'll start a new account. At least 20 mins on a new account will be a few building or library upgrades.
Feel free to mock me then if I complain. :D

Are you sure about 10% loot penalty? I read your post and you said there is none?!

I think until Nexon wake up, read peoples comments and god forbid reply with a reasonable response and confirm if the Global Age attack spectrum is a bug or intentional its hard to say as once your balls deep you cant reverse it. In historical style I would be very concerned they would pull the rug from under your feet.

On that bombshell they can shove Cold War somewhere.... with the rest of the unanswered "mysteries" of the game.

Only go to Cold War if YOU have no reservations in doing so, if you dont have any reservations then just do it and dont ask everyone else to convince you either way.

Two ways to test this - have people from different ages look at a friendly challenge, and compare available loot. There is a penalty that increases for each age you are highest than the target. 10% for one age, 50% for two, etc.

In war, the loot penalty that applies is based on the same percentage. 150 rubies for attacking your own agree or higher, 135 for one age down (10%), 75 for two (50%), etc.
