shukra nope. i destroyed only the refinery and no oil wells and looted 4000 oil from a global. thats not possible if there is any penalty. 4000 oil is the maximum possible amount that can be looted from sniping a refinery of a global base, whether the attacker is IA or GA or AA, and i also gained 4000 as a cwa. all this mention of 4000 is without loot boosts of course

Just remember, when it comes to getting museum artifacts it's based around what age bases you attack. If you go to CWA and only attack GA bases, you'll be dealing with 10 fragments per 5 star until the end of time.

Also, I believe CWA bases that attack GA only get 50% of the available loot? I heard that somewhere once before.

I'm a pretty strong AA base, but I'm going to continue maxxing things out before jumping up to CWA.

Fragments are less but not really an issue if you attack a lot. Unless you craft a lot of artifacts then you might have an issue.
The loot cap is not really an issue either as, at lower medals, you can always raid back to back. I can fill my 14 million buildings in 2-4 hours, depending on how much I play. I also fill my oil every 2-3 days just playing casually an hour or two per day. (helicopters help!)
Keep maxxing if that's your thing but the better toys/benefits at CW are worth it. I was sceptical about going to CW (long upgrades, higher costs) but I'm glad I did.

Hm, staying in global for a long time - you maxed everything then? Buildings, troops, research, forest?
Just wondering what's the highest level for each age.
Going to cold war, I think. Don't worry about fragments and loot. And since you are having maxed base, don't worry about getting attacked either.
There's only 1 thing you have to worry. If you participate in world wars, your alliance would hope more cause you are (hypothetically you've been) a cold war age player.

Wha a waste of worker/game time staying global....If you had just rushed to AA (get 220) and move CWA you would have had a much much better defensive base with much AA defs instead of useless wells, farms, caravans, temples and god knows what else.....

yes it is true that fragments can be an issue but it isn't so important as having after awhile max buildings and offence

Prior to the rebalance, I was always the type of player to max 90% of available buildings and troops, then advance to next age.
After the rebalance, WE HAVE TO ADAPT, to this anomally of ultra hard defence - mediocre offence. In order to achieve that, you max all the troops/planes while doing what you can with buildings. Then you advance an age and repeat the same process. The 2 most important ages imho, are industrial and atomic. It is in those ages that someone must spend some time to upgrade the most important buildings (antitank, AA etc)

Thanx for all the Replies guys... some Interesting insights, Dilemma time ensuing, as i Don’t get attacked much, & Events are Easy to Complete etc, just a little boring only Grinding out the UNI Research’s... Farms & Caravans still need some work, but almost pointless doing at present, Winter of the ages Instant upgrades coming soon, much to ponder on...
