Which is better? I know the Chinese fire twice as fast, but isnt it true they do 40% less damage?

You're correct about Chinese rifles. This still equates to 20% more damage however. Korean rifles at 40% more damage are still superior however.

I really wouldn't say that .
You'll lose more chinese shooters vs shooting defenses than you'd lose korean ones.
The reason is , that chinese shooters need to shoot more times at fir example a Tower , than korean shooters.
With IA or higher Age it makes really huge difference.
IA or higher korean shooters need to use only 35 shots at max to destroy lvl 7 tower , where chinese need to shoot 55 times at the same tower to destroy it .
Both korean and chinese shooters have range of 4 which means that they are vuknerable to towers shots before they get in range to attack .
Bringing 35 shooters to a battle means that koreans can destroy a tower with first shots at it where bringing 40 chinese shooters means you need to attack twice at the same tower to be able to destroy it.
in the long run that means that you lose more shooters in the process of destroying defensive buildings.
Both nations shooters are good, but both give different advantages.
Korea shooters are better than chinese thanks to their dps boost at destroying buildings
Chinese shooters on the other hand are better at killing defenders since those need to come closer to be able to kill your units, and that's where chinese shooters increased attack speed is far more better than dps bonus of korean shooters.

So you are essentially agreeing with Kraitok ? :D
I have played as both Chinese and currently Korean - Koreans destroy the enemy quicker I've found.

If it's a choice between Chinese and Korean rifles, then, it's definitely the Korean!
+40% damage versus +20% damage makes the Korean rifles a clear winner.

Koreans. Even more so when talking about rifes.
But if Chinese fire twice as fast, doesn't it mean Chinese deals 200% damage when Koreans deal 140% dmage? Now I'm messed up.

No, Chinese deal 120% damage, except they take 2 shots. It gives you an advantage in situations where 141% to 180% kills the target, Chinese riflemen kill it in 3 shots, Korean riflemen need 2 shots (that's Chinese 4 shots). Chinese riflemen excel at disposing of heavy tanks and high level generals.

Chinese basic damage is only 60% of standard archer, so 2 shots every second only equals 120% dps of standard archer.

Chinese rifles have a marginal advantage when battling other troops because of the fire rate, but Korean archers are superior in every other way.

Having played Chinese from start to EA, I can confirm this. When battling other troops, especially infantry, the Chinese are superior. When attacking something with more HP, such as tanks or walls/buildings, the Koreans win.

I played Chinese til industrial then switched to French. I think Chinese as the nation offers better perks extra citizen, extra troops from town center that increase each age and extra space on merc camp.
While the Korean 10% refund on loots is great, I don't use all of the tactics in one putting and don't find need for extra. Once you get to IA it seems French, German, and British dominate the scene.

I swap Chinese for Koreans for my EA account. I found Koreans slightly more superior. In WW, against strong opposition, I feel Koreans are much stronger in view of extra tactic to path the way for riflemen to destroy the buildings asap.

I not sure if to reach Global bcz I still stick to Global for my Romans.
