so I was trying to figure out what research and national bonuses are attached to your troops when you donate troops, to figure out if its worth spending time researching on troops I don't use but clan members wants to use in deference, like cannons.

so I asked my clan mates what stats they where getting on the troops I was donating, and the numbers was all over the place. for reference, i't the France nation in industrial age, and the tanks has the stats of 17'160 HP and 372 DPS, but when I donated the tanks to an clan member he reported the stats as 15840 HP and 310 DPS. so that was a bit strange I thought, so I wrote CS to get some clarification on whats going on in the calculations of stats. They said then that only national bonuses apply to donated troops, not any research. but unless the wiki page is wrong that does not seam to be correct, because the France tanks with only national bonuses should have stats of 13'200 HP and 288 DPS.

but I just assumed that the wiki was out of date, but I wanted to test some more, so I got a Greece nation clan member with the same research level and era as me to donate his tanks to me and compare stats, and then it just got strange, his stats are: 14'520 HP and 405 DPS, but the ones I received have 15,730 HP and 405 DPS.

I do believe there is some bug in the the calculations of stats. similar to the gate bug that seams to be fixed, where I at least got on a level 11 gate, variable stats a few months ago, from 13'815, 13'728 and 13'957.

I got another reply from another in the clan that I donated tanks to.
while the stats I have is: 17'160 HP and 372 DPS,
the first person that replied the stats of the donated tank got: 15840 HP and 310 DPS
the second person to reply got the stats of the donated tank: 14'300 HP and 288 DPS

somthing strange is going on here...

University bonuses don't affect your donated troops, but your university bonuses affect the troops donated to you.

It's a bummer, but imagine if you had 30 individual shooters from 30 alliance mates each with a different set of uni bonuses to keep track of. The game would just throw in the towel i'd imagine.

In short, don't waste your time building up things like mortar troops, for example, if you're not using them yourself.

I'm French IA too, and haven't gotten to the tank research tier in uni. Will have to take a look. I believe certain library researches and things like the Versailles wonder play a factor as well.

I am curious s what deals your damage if you're French without cannons. I love my St. Chammonds, as rolling shields. I don't expect them to kill much.

Thanks for the reply.

ok but what about library research? It seams like some apply and others don't, like for instance reducing the supply requirements seams to apply to donated units, but what about HP/DPS bufs?

regarding France, what I do is having 7 tanks, and 25 infantry and 3 healers in the first wave, moving them in a circle around the base seams the most safe way to remove enemy defenses and at the same time keeping your army alive, when the defenses are gone I deploy 15+ heavy infantry to steamroll the remaining buildings. Works like a charm on 800-1200 medals 100-130lvl area, rarely lose anything more than a few troops and ready for a new battle as soon as the first is over. Not so sure if you perhaps need another army composition if you want to go for higher levels

That's a grey area. A few months back I started a new account. I was quite pleased that my IA French could donate artillery to my classical age Germans even though they hadn't done Ballistics chapter 2. Yet when I tried donating that same artillery to a warbase it took 10 spaces instead of 9.

I wish the wiki was more helpful, or this forum had a FAQ.

It's actually quite easy. None of the buff, researches or bonuses carry over to the donated unit. Just the Base value. For example, you have researched health +10%. Your ally have researched attack +10%. You have a tank whose base values are 100 health and 100 attack. You donated it to your ally. The tank will have 110 health and 100 attack in your hands but the same tank will have 100 health and 110 attack when in your ally's hand. That's all.
Since unique troops have different base values, they will retain that base value before applying the receiver's corresponding stats.

And don't forget about Wonder effects too. For example, if you have Versailles then troops in your army get a 10% health bump. That's another reason why the same troop in the hands of two different players could have different HP

Ok, Thanks for replying, that makes sense. Not a bug after all.

so researching on canons in the university is beneficial even if I don't use them in attacks, but I do use them in defense. And that bonus gets attributed to the defending troops that a donated?

Yes, that's correct- any buffs you've researched will apply to any troops you receive.

Has anybody had the problem where university upgrades for rifleman are not being added to the rifleman in the field?i have research rifleman health and damage to second stage and my rifleman appear exactly the same: no change in stats. I have asked customer service and just get what appears to be an automatic response: ie thanks for your question, we are aware and looking into it😒, hmmm, just curious if others have come across the same problem?
