donations for defense

So there are a lot of threads on army compositions for offense. But what troops would be good for donating for defense? especially for ww.
The suitable candidates would be canons, ranged infantry and raiders in my opinion.
Anyone with other thoughts?

Tanks are good too. Heavy Tanks may be the best (Splash damage and high HP, it's like an Artillery and Tank in one).

The best defensive troop by far is cannons. They can decimate dozens of foot troops with one shot.

Actually they can be donated before. They are one of the best because they healed defender and don't get attack by enemy troops!

But if your GP wonder is Angkor Wat, then is no use for the healing cart. Cannons will be more useful in all base.

Gatterling/machine gunners and tanks do their job well. Raiders are surprisingly good too.

Hi Krandor, I said :BEFORE. I received them myself. (Not on war) Probabley healing cart is over powered on defense! ;-)

Cannons are super slow to fire despite the splash damage they do. Any troops can easily overwhelm it especially if you rally them to it. I would think it's better to have a mix of tanks to soak damage, gunmen and melee but that's all a matter of personal opinion.
