Is Forbidden City useless nowadays?

I've noticed that in all our last wws I always make quick star through the 50 percent destruction. And it really doesn't matter whether the base has FC or not. You know, because of missile silo and the victory timer. So from my point of view FC doesn't perform it's basic function for the high level bases - to prevent from quick victory. And what are your impressions?

Yeah I have it in AA. For the most part it is totally useless on the rare occassions Im 5 starred in war. But for the majority of hits it shaves 2 stars and QV off the battle and that can turn into a team victory.

Colessium is more useless than FC in late game IMO. 12 sec duration for SOTG? pfft.

Colosseum useless. LOL. You must not fight in too many heavy wars with full EAs in every base. FC is a great wonder if you have a good base for it. It is also war dependent... which alliance you are in, the quality of opponent you meet, etc.

It is unusual for the FC to be valuable at this point, whereas before the multiplication of cards and spread attacks it was a difference maker on a lot of bases.

Now the top choices seem to be either terracotta or Colliseum, both for offense (extra army or SoTG). Which you prefer will depend on your playing style.

For a large portion of the game, I would say Notre Dame is best. The number of oil upgrades that it discounts is huge, and since oil is the limiting factor for most key offensive upgrades (airplanes especially), it is hard to compete with that.

It's still moderately useful at lower levels (IA and below), but for higher level players it's pretty useless at this point.

I can't remember the last time a FC prevented me from getting a 5* victory. It's seriously been a long time, maybe a year or so. If anything, with the introduction of the missile silo and having heavies (TDs/generals) deploying away from the main force, this just gives you a place to put them. But it's easy enough to get a 50% QV even without doing that most of the time, since all of those resource buildings tend to be unprotected - especially if the FC is protected.

I've seen higher level players who used to swear by FC abandon it for Coliseum now. Strength of Gladiator is quite useful (and helps you get 50% QV if you haven't already), especially if you're dealing with full SH with heavy air defenses.

Yes it is useless. Coliseum is my first choice for people usually assigned to attack the heaviest base with 3O. For people usually having 3D or 2D/1O, terra cotta is sensible choice, since their job will be to do speedy time on 3O bases.

Colosseum mate, forbidden city is good up-to industrial, after that, if you come up against good attackers, they normally go for the 50% qv. But, its OK against the folks that love rallying to kill the tc and have no clue what to expect after that.

I prefer the Colosseum to the FC. I found the Col is more effective for attacking than the FC is for defending.
Plus the Col also helps with defending. A better 'all-round' wonder.
Imo. :)

FC still works for me. I have Acropolis and Versailles too, and when I go 3D I am rarely 5 starred. Another wonder would not work as well.

Hey Tsamu couple things. 1st can u message me like to see about ur alliance. 2nd to maybe help I hope. For me as a globalist, I had FC from beginning until recently when I changed to Colosseum , I like most said that opponent would get Quick Victory bc of 50% of buildings so I saved 1800 crowns and tested them both. Now to be clear the type of player you are I think makes huge difference so this is based on my style. Layouts no matter will be 5* but making your base to either not get a Quick victory or not give up 100%. I find it impossible to always stop a Quick victory but find it easier to stop all from getting 100% I do this with layout obviously but more than that overwhelming of attacker with troops. So collussum is best gives extra defenders is ok but the daily gladiator power up is way better than little food bonus. Wonders ideal for me 1.Acropolis 2. Colosseum 3. Taj Mahalo 4. Brandenburg Gate.

Coliseum is genuinely pathetic. Notre Dame is well worth it once you hit oil upgrades and FC is awesome if you use it properly - IE, make the CC and FC equally hard to get to and use traps/ resistance buildings effectively.
Ive never thought twice about a Coliseum but always carefully plan attacks against good FC bases.
On the point of 50% victories, a decent base only cops these against HT armies. There doesn’t seem to be anything to stop 6 Mk V or VI HT’s getting a 50% Q.V.
War opponents where most of the bases have FC usually do very well.

In other words, you've never used a Coliseum.

I've got 5 accounts and have both FC and Coliseum on them. All of the higher level bases have Coliseum now, because FC is truly useless at higher levels.

No one in my alliance has any problem getting 5* on any FC layouts anymore. It only prevents inept attackers from getting 5*. Like I said earlier, useful at lower ages, useless at higher ages.

Yes, it is useless. We are a top 200 alliance (according to the polish site) and frequently face leaderboard alliances. TC/FC is completely ignored and you always go for the 50% QV.

FC is not useless at all!
If your opponent can get QV* by 50% destruction its due to your base is weak and you missed a few points!

Percent destruction is based on amount of HPs!

As a result try to spread your high HP buildings all over your base in order to preventing 50%destruction in time!

Nevertheless can't ignore this really high skill players know how to deal with any case!

But I agree B-Gate after the radius of TC been increased became completely useless !!

The FC is far from useless in higher levels. Within a proper base design it can totally changes the attackers choices because it must be considered. It often also forces an attack from an uncomfortable direction and can be used as bate to draw an attacker into a stategic area. An area which they normally would not attack from. So don’t disqualify the FC so fast.

With more and more buff in defense, Rally is useless now

In high end, the standard way to get quick star is doing 50% quick victory.

But FC still have some help: It can change attacker's drop location

But I will say it become less useful, when 4 troop cards in use

It can almost always be ignored, and if you're configuring your base to defend it then that is more noncombat buildings unprotected, which just makes 50% QV easier.

Most decent attackers have no problem getting 5* on a FC base.
