Not possible to end medal quest

I had this behavior before, but thought it might be an accident, as I had the medals quest before but it was not further counting toward the 285 target after I reached 250 total medals.

So I checked the quest progress prior to attacking and afterwards. No progress was made, even though I won some fights. As you can see in the following screenshot I have 249/285 medals

And my last attack was versus B 020

After my troops were rebuild I attacked again:

As you can see I won two fights and the medal count didn't change at all:

Also you see that in the first screenshot the Exotic Goods quest did have 0/155 goods and after a restart of the app the number updated.

The target number of medals is set when the quest first appears. For example, if you had 2000 medals when it was given to you, you have to get 2285. If you lose medals in between, it means you have to gain more, because you need to get to 285 more than you had then.

By the way, I find that the counter isn't very helpful. It would be better to start by saying (current medals) / (starting medals+285), because it could change that top value and we would know where we are.

Instead, it says the closest you have gotten so far, even if you are farther away right now. For example, if you had 2000 when you started, then got to 2249, it currently would still say 249/285 even if you dropped to 1000 medals. In my preferred version, it would say 1000/2285.

thats because when the quest starts your current medal count is the starting point. if you lose medals during quest no quest progress is made until you get higher than your last win the gave progress in quest.


example

your medals at quest start = 1500
two attacks give 50 medals. quest progress 50 medals.

next attack or defend you lose 20 medals. medal count now 1530.

your next attack only gives you 5 medals. medal count 1535. quest does not credit you 5 medals because you are below your last successful attack medal count of 1550

its a bug for sure

Hopefully they amend this. At some medal range, it is impossible to gain 285 medals and complete the quest. Whereas in Bronze League, I can complete this quest while sleeping as people drop medals on my base.

this issue is a design problem ... the intent of the medals quest is to hit a target set when you get the quest, and that target should be displayed so you don't have to wonder ....
and new players will certainly make a mistake and get the wrong idea because the UI is confusing.

it should be *medals* ... get to 2285.
