Rearm Cost

If your traps cost that much then they're fairly well upgraded - which means you're doing something right. Either you're raiding a lot or you're high in age (IA or GLOBAL) which means you're doing better than most - which means you should have good upgrades on your farms/caravans/roads. I know people don't recommend upgrading these but I can log on in the morning and after 10 or so hours collect over 200K from just my roads - more than enough to cover 186k.

You remind me of my neighbour who complains about the price of petrol for his Land Rover Sport and his wife's Mercedes AMG !! :D

Lucky they didn't put rearm on automatic, or after 10 raids overnight, you'd find your markets completely empty. :)

These are stupid responses. The point is not whether other people pay more or less, but the overall value of defenses like traps. If they cost more to rearm than they save in looting losses, something is wrong.

What I do now to minimize my cost of rearming my traps is to put them all inside my base..This way they have to completely destroy my base to rearm all my traps...Looters don’t go for total destruction..

Isn't the purpose of traps to prevent enemies from coming in rather than hit them on the way out?

Technically Melheor you are correct but....If you put all your traps all around your base.....Like I used to do...Looters will fall on most of my traps looting farms..caravans..and oil wells. Costing me from 100k to 250k in gold just to rearm my traps besides the loot they stole...I collect often my resources during the day...so usually there is not much to loot...Putting the traps all inside my base saves me 75k to 150k in gold each time I get attacked....Which is pretty rare now since I am a high level player.. Just for Info ..I stopped upgrading my roads,,,caravans..farms..oil wells and any research to do with economic production for gold and food and oil since I was in Ind Age...90% of my resources come from looting...That’s why i rarely get attacked..

Sure, but this leads us back to Aeldwulf's point. If it's more expensive to protect the resources than disregard them, something is wrong with the protection mechanism.

Melheor....The game wants you to upgrade your roads farms, caravans, oil wells..to generate as much resources as it can..For looters like me and many others like me...Ironically players that kept all economic upgrades to a mimimum are better off..Because with little loot they don’t become targets for looters..Even my trap blessing is useless now due to my traps being inside my base. Also players who have high upgraded roads, caravans, farms, oil wells are 20 to 40 levels higher than those who have did not..This gives you a disadvantage in multiplayer and in WW..

Oh, trap blessing is useless for a whole other reason. Nexon decided to change it from 10% destruction to any one trap being triggered. Given its price, it now ties 1st place for the most useless blessing with gathering blessing.

Why do you think this give you a disadvantage in MP and WW?

JNation...The disadvantage is when you have to take on a player equal to your level in WW..We have a player which is Ind age Level 104..That can defeat easily a level 150 with nice shinny roads and high level farms.caravans.oilwells...You see what I mean....In MP you become a big target with lots of loot....The level 104 player in my alliance has level 1 roads..level 3 farms and caravans..level 1 oil wells...His base is maxed out offensivly...140 troops, tanks, artillery, riflemen, flamepanzers, aircr aft..maxed out coalitions,tactics..maxed out englightment age défenses. Theoretically he is a level 104 hiding I a level 150.. Check out our alliance Temujin...Youman..
Iam Lordwinman in the same alliance.

Roads do not contribute to war strength, this was covered by nexon a while back when they did an open Q&A. Your level 104 industrial can easily defeat a 150 because the level 104 is actually a 150 if those roads, caravans and farmers were upgraded. as far as MP goes, if you were worried about being a big target than go upgrade your roads which would give you several jumps in level. Another things is that Youman is behind on defensive. I see no Tanks depots which means no tanks defenders. also level 9 and 10 walls are nothing crazy. Part of what makes Youman a big target will be lack of tanks defenders. tell him to hit up one of those stables and i promise you will see a major drop in attackers.

This level hiding strategy is only a thing that works visually. So in MP, looking low level might convince some people to attack you who otherwise wouldn't; but in war, the matching is based on your actual war weight - offense and defensive buildings including their university stat boosts. Doesn't care about your XP level.

You aren't changing the war weight of your team by not upgrading the farms / caravans / roads (especially roads), just making it look lower.
