So how much does it cost to upgrade all your oil based items without any discounts?
Buildings 5,190,000
Library 2,808,500
Generals 35,943,750
Fact/Air 10,117,100
Coalitions 757,500
University* 4,925,000
59,741,850

Please note that this Data is based off of the Wiki.

There is a lot of MISSING data for the University research trees. *Only contains totals from Amelia and Moctezuma.

Generals - The first 4 take 5,055,000 To get to level 50, the last three take 5,241,250 Each.

How do these numbers compare to CoC's Dark Elixir(Oil) total costs?

CoC requires 13,255,000 TOTAL Dark Elixir to fully max a base and all the spells/troops.

So not only does it take us over 2x as long to fully max an AA base, it takes 451%(4.51x) more Oil to max all oil cost items in comparison to CoC.

Our Generals, which take 24 hours to revive if killed, dont auto respawn in our castles, and cost oil to train, and DO NOT HAVE any abilities, take a total of 2.71x more Oil to max out than all of CoC's Dark Elixir items.

And for those of you that havent played CoC before, it is a hell of a lot easier to acquire Dark Elixir there than it is to get Oil here.

It is another example that Nexon have no idea how to balance game.

They double oil requirement in global age (while IA is already high enough to stop a lot of people)

Agreed, but oil did become easier to farm in Global vs Industrial. So while the prices are ridiculous, the worst age for oil in my opinion is Industrial, not Global or Atomic. A lot of new farming strategies open up in later 2 ages, and Enlightment bases with barely any oil go away in favor of Industrial bases that average 1k+ oil. In Industrial, if a base had more than 800 oil, I considered that a lot. Now I won't bother attacking anything with less than 2.5k.

But bases are more difficult to farm at higher ages, less abandoned bases because a lot of people quit well before AA.

Also the economy here is so much worse than in CoC, mainly because of the player base size and then because many dont upgrade production buildings here.

Lets just say the average person can farm 60k oil EVERY DAY. Thats 995.69 or 996 days of farming oil just to be able to max all oil upgrades without a discount. So do you want to spend nearly 3 years of grinding oil to max all the oil based things, or do you want to spend tens of thousands of dollars using crowns to max oil items??

I also dont think the average player can grind 60k oil a day with normal play, even with a min 2.5k oil per attack, thats 24 attacks a day.

@SinYin thats my point. I went high for what i thought the actual numbers really would be. So in reality it will take an average player 4+ years to get the required oil.

Now you start crying how hard it is to be gain ......sooo you get what you want in the end , thanks God that I have finished all oil related upgrades (few Amelia researches left) .So good luck farming that oil :))))) I'm almost done :))))

LordJestix at what daily base of oil gain you made your predictions ? Assuming 2k oil per attack it's 25 attacks for 50k oil - or 1 hour and 15 min (ideal case) ...so for 200k oil you need to play how long 5 hours (it's not even a part time job it's almost full time job :)))) and it's ideal case (without waiting for troops retraining)

You mistake my posts as crying. I am only pointing out to the player base the commitment it takes to do things in this game in the grand scheme of things compared to the #1 game in this genre.

These numbers are only going to get worse when they add Cold War and Space Age(if this game even last that long).

And to further prove the point, that seems to be wide spread, that the dev team is way out of touch with its player base and the only true focus is "how can they get big spenders to spend more money"

You're almost done? Just wait until they add a new University leader, his name will be Rockefeller.

in terms of priorities, i would put generals as being last on the list. they are basically one use per day extra troops. rarely do they suffer almost no damage or little damage.

Id have to agree with you, they are pretty much worthless for what you have to invest in them.

Even if you didnt do any generals, you still have to spend 23,798,100 oil which is 179.54%(1.79x) more than CoC, which includes the 3 heros that repawn in 30 minutes when dead, allways on defense unless reviving, and all have special abilities.

There are no buildings in CoC that required Dark Elixir(Oil) to upgrade. Its all troop and hero upgrades and the 3rd hero doesnt take Dark Elixir it takes Normal Elixir(Food)

Generals are to oil what walls are to food and gold. A place to sink your excess when nothing else is happening.

It also is a handy place to convince the rich to shell out for crowns - that plus the university are bottomless pits.

Why do we need multiple oil sinks let alone one? Oil is by far the hardest resource to acquire and how do you expect to keep a good player base, that will typically consist of causal players 1hr daily play time, when the end is basically out of reach for all of those players?

I don't think we need oil sinks, or really food and gold sinks. But it is a way to reward spenders and grinders - if anyone runs out of things to spend on or grind for, they might take a break, and then quit.

Of course, two week upgrades already make that quite likely. Only money fixes that...

Actually i think most expensive resource in this game is "time" .... 21 days for clearing forest?!? , 24h for generals, 3h for tactics... i have voices in my head, telling me "go to the dark side, buy more crowns"... 😂😂

Ok yes time/workers is the #1 resource, but those cannot be acquired through normal play.
