german 15% damage fury bonus; make it always on

i've played german most of the time and have switched to french. the difference is pretty clear... going from the most mentally burdensome to most relaxed.

the 'fury' management as german is a significant burden. i got used to it, but when i changed to french it's absence made the game much more relaxed. i never have to consider when fury on/off, or sniping a base to get it back.

imo, the game would not suffer by making it 'always on' ... careful german players attack with it anyway; it would only remove a purposeless gimmick.
if german nation is 'balanced' against others by having it toggle on/off, it is qualitative only. quantitatively as in WW every german attacks with it on.

optically, a global 15% damage bonus is maybe the best.
like the romans it's flexible and arguably DPS is the most important thing which is why i tried germans first.

i think it was intended to give the germans distinctiveness .. a unique property ... but i think it contributes nothing to the game.

afterthought:
perhaps drop it to 10% but remove the toggle?
i think a flat 15% bonus would be best, but i'd rather take 10 than have it flip on and off....
sorry if this is inflammatory ... it's just my opinion.

I never had a problem figuring out if it's on or off. In fact, when switching from Japanese (best decision ever) I was worried about this game mechanic, but had no issues with it since then. But the nerf you're proposing to 10%, I'm definitely against that, we need that extra DPS to compliment the aggressive play style and a crappy unique unit. Stick to French and leave us Germans alone.

How about a 3% Buff for each star you earned on the previous attack!? I don't play German myself but it sounds like a reasonable 'stepped' reward that will encourage 5 star attacks.

that's fun, but a serious nerf as right now only 1* gets 15% ....
how about constant 10% + 1% for each star on last attack?

that's just an afterthought .. my main point is that the toggle is a headache for me, and likely for others.
i don't think it lends anything positive.

Sure, that works too. Just throwing ideas out. You could even add a 'sweet' bonus for the 5 star attack but that might be getting carried away!

Umm, you know you can just attack the level 2 Fertile Crescent in singleplayer repeatedly to activate the bonus. It takes all of 30-40 seconds depending on how fast it loads.

I don't understand why tinker with Germans at all, they're fine the way they are. If you want to fix a nation, concentrate on Japanese. For example, give them bonus production during the peace treaty, that will make that nation more useful.

German is in a pretty powerful state as the Nation power compliments what its unique units possess. Giving it a perpetual 10% damage increase is even too powerful granted that a weapon blessing that can be further amped up through research is already present(additively, granting Germans unique unit a total of 45% from 15% Teutonic Fury, 20% unique unit bonus damage and 20% from unupgraded Weapon Blessing.) Toggling on or off is also cumbersome when you can just defeat the Dawn Age bases in the single player mode in Fertile Crescent. Other Nations are in fact better need of reworks such as the Japanese and the Greeks. Germans need a balancing rework sadly.

You do realize that the weapon blessing boost is not unique to Germans, right? Your argument that Germans are overpowered because the most easily killed foot solider has higher DPS for them than any other nation holds no water. If you want to run the numbers this way, French and British unique units end up with similar DPS/HP boost once the bonuses are factored in, and their unique units are actually more useful in the army line up. And what about Korean archers? With 40% DPS boost, they end up with 60% damage boost with the Weapon Blessing, and that's an always-on benefit.

No you can't. It only activates from multiplayer victory. Where are you getting your info from?
