Is there really no way to control which mercenaries attack at which location?

This has always bothered me about going in with multiple mercenaries of different types. I may not want to drop my Raiders in the same spot as my tercios.

Mercenaries attack according to their scripting: Raiders go after resource buildings, cavalry go after defensive buildings, etc - but it's a one time deployment for all of them. Although, once deployed, they'll all move to different locations anyway - so .......

For this reason, I hire mercenaries of the same type, even if that means waiting till I'll have enough trade goods to do so. I use mercenaries only in war battles though, and not in multi-player battles.

They are really useless for multiplayer battles, a flampanzer tank is expensive than a Training blessing... LOL.

I use the Gurkas, but just because of that animal blessings and that I'm slowly working to the 3000 mercenaries achievement, but they are so so useless, they die so easily, that I don't think they make even for 3 Riflemen...

Gurkhas are the best mercs in the game from a cost/benefit perspective. I have no idea how you think they are not good. Only the flame tank is better.

FROM a cost/benefit perspective!!!

As I said, I use it a lot, but only because are the best mercs, what I think, and there is an achievement about hiring mercs. And ocasionally some quests will appear too.

But otherwise, they are useless. 6 Gurkhas are worst than 2 Riflemen immo, at least I don't find a place in my army for them at all, they die in a second.

If I were not to hunt animals, I won't probably use any mercs at all, sword blessing instead.
