What about 3 HT, 3 Canons, 1 heal, 29 rifleman's? Anybody had success with this combo?

Posting here to get an insight from all the people who posted on being able to use the HT successfully:

Are you using the different HT combos in World War as well or only in multiplayer? If yes, how successful do you find it in WW?

I have used HTs in past with good success against industrial and early globals. I faced problem with mid to high range globals upward of level 160. But then I use only 1-2 tactics, no alliance troops, no mercenaries in those attacks.

I am a Lvl 172 global, with German nation and BG as wonder. Currently I do not face much problem in 5 starring in WW with the regular barrack troops. Wanted to get some feedback before switching to HTs in WW too.

I use HT combo (4 of them) only in WW, in regular league battles I use barracks troops. It works really well
Only problem is when you are saving a lot of oil for something, because then you dont want to waste oil on donate (after a ww battle)

Interestingly i was discussing this with one of our alliance co-leaders. I use full HTs in WW as well as PvP. For WW it is extremely successful so far.

But these days the real benefit is in PvP. With british loot bonus , and approx 1 HT loss for 20 battles, the oil is overflowing and so is gold. Since not much is required to retrain, i can play 20-25 battles in an hour. Utilising this opportunity to upgrade generals and walls. Am nearly maxed at industrial, but will sit out for some more time to troll EA bases for easy gold and oil . Free citizens for Uni researches is double whammy . No rush to go global.

When there is a really tough opponent to be taken out in WW, then i flush my HTs (either donate or rally them to oil wells in PvP to compensate for oil) and then train the typical black watch army. Its fun to play with two of the most powerful offensive army combos of the game.

Thanks. I tried them couple of times in WW and didn't face any issue. My problem so far was that I had to dump them before WW as I wasn't confident and it was proving too costly. Going to focus on the library research then.

i use it a lot, both in WW and multiplayer (even if in multi i prefer normal tanks)
1 heavy tank mk2 5 howitzers, 3 supply 50 rifleman( brit)- 4 sabotage 1 protect
the heavy tank will always be in front of the army and take almost all the damage,and help the riflemen to open the walls.
in war i like it more than the tanks because tanks go on defenses and the supplys tend to follow them and get killed by towers or other defenses.
I rarely rally on building but often near the army in order to have it always togheter

Yesterday I used HT's in my two attacks in World War. Before I was once Roman nation, now I am British nation. Troopcomposition as follows:
4 HT`s, 3 Howitzers, 17 Rifleman
3 Howitzers from Alliance Gate
2 Jagdpanzer and 2 Flammpanzer from Mercenary Camp
3 Heroes
3 sabotage and 3 Betrayal Tactics

I would like to optimize my attack strategy and therefore ask for feedback. Yes, it's right I got 5 stars; but I think I could do it a better way in coming world wars. I made videos from my attacks:

Nice World War 5 stars with Heavy Tanks! In general, I have found that heavy tanks are too unpredictable to use in World War, but the last time I tried was with HT MK1 (like you, I'm at MK3 now/ You have inspired me to try them in WW again!) You were lucky your HT's didn't hit any traps, things may have gone differnt if they had. I think your strategy was spot on, but your troop composition only worked because you were supported with full merc troops and all tactics. Point being that the base you hit was not really a good base to hit with multiple HT's in normal gameplay. As far as advice goes, the only thing I would have done different was to use blitzkrieg on the east side of the base rather than in the center, not a big deal though.

It's been awhile since this thread has been active and a lot has changed. In the last 6 months, the MK3 came out, more troop space is available, New Library tech for HT's and the Observatory. So let's revisit the age-old question: What is the best nation and troop composition for Heavy Tanks?

Make sure to include the following information:

• Your Nation
• Your Age (ie Global)
• Troop capacity
• HT rank (ie MK1 or MK3)
• HT health and damage with all bonuses (ie 1736D, 28083H)
• Troop composition (ie 4HTs, 5Howitz, 11Shock Infantry)
• Reason your troop composition works well

I'll start:

• Roman
• Global
• 148 troop space
• MK3
• 1736D, 28083H
• 1 HT, 8Howitz, 2 supply, 20royal alpini, 17 rifleman

I use this troop composition because it's easy to adapt if I loose my HT or a few of my Howitzers. As long as I don't loose my supply, I can keep attacking while my HT and more Howitzers are being trained. Sometimes I'll do 2 HT's and 5 Howitzers. My other go to troop composition is 6 HT's and 4 royal alpine, but I only use this for easy farming bases under 1000 medals. With the MK3 its a guaranteed slaughter and a ton of fun to go from base to base with 0 losses. But again, this is only for farming easy villages.

Final thought: The HT Mk3 is loads of fun to dominate with, but it is still a bit too unpredictable and too long to train for it to be universally used right now. But as more and more players get the MK3 and upgrade their factories so they can train two HT's at once I can see it gaining population. But more than anything, when people research the HT in the observatory I predict a whole new play style. The de Vinci research track will boost the HT by 30% in both health and damage, which will bring it to 36,508 health and 2,259 damage for non-german nations using the Brandenburg gate. Don't know about you all, but I can't wait!

I will look the video again, to check the positioning of my Blitzkrieg. In my opinion, this tactic is generaly only suitable for world war. In multiplayer you did not have enough time, to make a good plan - in world war have more than 30 seconds!

I'm a Global German. About to get my MK3. I only bring 1 HT to protect my howies' rear.
Hated HTs when I 1st tried them out. They are god damn slow and dont go for defences. But I find that they have their purposes. I loose much lesser canons when I bring a HT. (This was back when I was IA.)

Best nations to use HTs-
French: Training bonus and bigger AG.
Romans: Bigger troop space.
Germans: Rally boost. They are great when you have better control over them.

Redundant nations to use HTs-
French and Greeks. They already have their own super tanks. No point wasting oil on upgrading HTs and all their researches.

Ps: Yes I know I mentioned the french in both list. =)

Very nice, good job.
I suggest you try a simple 6 Ht attack with 15 infantry, same strategy. The infantry are for cleanup or to assist the 50qv

Do you think 2 additional HT's are better than the 6 Howitzers? It will cost more oil and nothing can shoot over a wall - will look very impressive, but will it also be better/stronger?!?

My Infantry is not maxed out - still on the level of enlightment - but otherwise it could be better to change the rifleman for infantry to secure the 50qv. I will think about it for my next attack with this strategy ...
