Weekly feedback thread! Last week was Alliances. We've already covered frustrations with imbalance. Let's talk buildings!

What new buildings would you like to see? What do you like or dislike about current buildings?

1. Cost of buildings too high in Enlightenment Age. Please reduce it.
2. Upgrade duration too long. Please reduce it.
3. Increase Vault capacity or allow another Vault.

4. Show picture of how the building will look like in the next upgrade.
5. Versailles radius is ridiculously small, probably because the building itself is pretty big.
6. Notre Dame 'cannot be attacked' provides what benefit? The building also has HP - so what's that for?

7. Hanging Garden's waterfall is static. The water does not move. Please animate it like the waterfalls on the top-right side of the map.
8. Connecting roads to Forbidden City should be considered as connecting to Town Center.
9. The defensive buildings should be themed for each nation.

10. Upgradeable houses to produce more citizens - check my previous week suggestion.
11. If #10 is not possible, maybe allow more houses. A nation cannot be sustained by just 6-7 families. :p
12. Archer Tower has 3 person standing there but only shooting 1 arrow. Consider increasing Archer tower rate of fire or make it shoot more than 1 direction at 1 time.

I would like a defensive building that shocks defensive troops! I'm sure you will come out with it since I saw if you will have shock infantry soon too.
I wish that the mortars range would be a bit shorter but it's fine for now. Also I'm forwarding to the new troops and buildings like the air defense and stuff like that!

I also sent you a visitor's message, but I'm not sure if you saw it.

This game is laggy

Off the top of my head
  • The ability to save multiple base layouts should be added. In addition, we should be allowed to save layouts that are incomplete as long as they aren't set as the active layout. Basically like how Clash of Clans does it. Bases get complicated as you advance and I'm sure any player who wants do an extensive base redesign would appreciate the ability to do so in stages rather than having to complete it in one go.
  • Japanese Town Center should be treated as a defensive building since it functions as one.
  • A building's Info screen should show an image that corresponds to its current level, not level 1. Accordingly, the Upgrade screen should show image corresponding to its next level.
  • Wonders feel imbalanced. For example, Hanging Gardens requires you to always keep 2 citizens free and to log in very frequently to make full use of it. Even then its bonus is insignificant. Maybe a feedback thread could be started about this topic. But then again, there are already threads about wonders in Ideas & Requests and General Discussion subforum.
  • Ornamental buildings could be added.

I suggest the following buildings: Decorative Monuments of greatest cheaters, Village swap blessing, Refund Wonder, old AI blessing. We received no responses on our first weekly feedback which covers top priotity issues, so I am affraid to distract you with any other comments. Just don't accidentaly upload space age content, okay?

How about buildings that can't be added using the unlimited buildings hack? If that's too much to ask, maybe just buildings that can't be upgraded with crowns that weren't bought or earned. And if that's too much, maybe just buildings that my troops can attack after I've used a rally. Maybe just buildings that my troops won't dance around for a while before they attack. All of those buildings would be great and I'm sure all the honest players would love to see them.

Agree with firedancer on several things — I don't personally use Notre Dame but I think that it should be impossible to get 100% completion on a base if someone has that wonder. Otherwise there's no point to it being indestructible. I also would love to see the defensive buildings stylized like the nation.

At the rate upgrade times and costs have been rising throughout the ages, it seems like it will be unsustainable long before this game reaches Space Age. I think these should be scaled back or reworked in some way. It makes sense, of course, to have things cost more and take more time as the player grows in level, but I think the rate at which they are increasing will be hard to justify soon.

Greeks (my nation!) and Romans look virtually identical. I'd like to see some variation there. Same with French and British.

I have one new idea for a building — a SCHOOL for citizens! Maybe added in Enlightenment age (haha get it cuz learning) and you can send a citizen to school for a few days to teach him/her how to build things faster, harvest faster, hunt faster, etc. This should also come with the ability to pick which citizens work on which projects. This might help with the scaling problem, as well. If I could teach a couple citizens how to build defensive buildings faster and cheaper, I'd definitely use it. Maybe with a cap of only two citizens per skill or something.

Edit: Also agree with "this game is laggy" above — I'd use the heck out of multiple base layouts.

Let's talk about buildings! Next week will talk about flags? Or about grass colours and patterns? Or about milk, cereals... since this game is a new Farmville. I waste all my army to take a 30 levels lower base but I'm leveled to ground by a guy who attaks with 17 cav, 3 war elef, 4 tactics and a 20 level gen. Make a thread with recommendations for other games. That it's a farmer game, you know that and try to drive around the pile of... .

Make it possible to add extra workers to speed the build
And the Notre dam should be considered a (indestructible) wall, so it should connect to a wall on the side (maybe change the image accordingly)
then it has some use and also a bit of defense advantage

1. I think either long upgrade duration or high cost to upgrade/build. Can't be both.
10. Upgrade houses not more houses.

School is good idea, it can also add to the capabilities of the library.

The length of time it takes to build means that I don't play for a few days, when I used to play more regularly. What do I play in the meantime?

It doesn't take me 4 days to gather the resources.

There are a few ways to improve on this mentioned above:
School to improve skills of workers = reduced building/research time
upgrade houses to have a few more villagers
reallocate workers to build on the projects you want done first.

Future building things should be: -able to change types of house looks (suburbs, skyscraper, log cabin, hut) but keeping it with the age feel. -Level 6 tower should look less brick-y to keep it feeling medieval -Rotatable buildings -Decoration buildings (cost crowns, gold or food, but should not obstruct enemy army for balancing) like little campfires or gardens, or even streetlights in later ages. Possibly nation-specific decorations. -Dock in later ages looks different, as in concrete. -Night time day time based on current time zone, with buildings lit up. (Could be disabled I guess) It would make cool night attacks with the glowing of fire and bullet tracers. -Finaly, why do we all have to start in a grassy area? Maybe sandy, rocky, a jungle, swamped, or an island?

13. Make the Dock upgradeable to a Port to make trade ships appear more frequently.
14. Use the Dock to trade Trade goods with other Alliance members.
15. Reduce Forest clearing duration.

16. Add 2 more gold mines.
17. Increase farm and caravan production rate.
18. Allow blessings to last for more than one defense after upgrading Temple.

lol mercenaries' stats are way too strong to take them back as a survivors and if that happens, it will be damn too easy to farm or raid bases considering those war elephants are too tough to be killed..
