"We briefly considered reducing the power of these Tactics or increasing the power of the other Tactics. The first option (reducing their power) just made these Tactics feel dramatically weaker than they are now, which wasn’t as fun. The second option was a problem because we couldn’t actually buff the other Tactics like Barrage and First Aid enough to balance them without making them wildly overpowered."

I would like to see replays of these attacks testing different buffs and what you all considered changing. I would like to see how developers "attack."

Yes, I am challenging you.

In fact, if you want to do a full fledged war and exchange replays, I am all for that! My alliance would be more than happy to teach you.

Every move by Nexon makes me realize how disconnected the decision makers are from the players/game.

Agree that bypassing important defences with sabotage sucks, Nexon could've left the capacity alone and limited the max number of any one type of tactic to 2 or 3.

I doubt they will take the voice of the community seriously .
To me it is look like they will just keep saying "Oh yes, we have listened to the community and reviewing the feedback"
And then in the next few weeks or months they will just roll out the tactics nerf as usual.

To be fair, a bunch of threads were merged into one... made it very hard to find the places where people replied to my posts / comments >.>

Our goal is that all Tactics feel like they’re worth bringing
I do not see how such changes in the Tactics would achieve that. Instead, it may only make Betrayal, Sabotage and Protect less worth bringing without making the rest of the Tactics more worth bringing, resulting in further lessening to the diversification of Tactics that a player would use, which contradicts with the stated goal of the changes. I personally think that reducing the training time for those less popular Tactics would encourage players to use them more frequently. For example, if the training time for First Aid is reduced by half or three quarters, I would consider using it instead of the Protect Tactic or Healer troops.

As for addressing the issue of offence-defense imbalance, the changes to the Tactics would overdo it. The main reason for the offence-defense imbalance that I have observed playing this game for 1.5 years is that most players(including myself) focus on offense much more than defense. This is mainly due to the amount of resources generated through not offensive means is miserably low in relative to attacking others, which makes it a very great incentive to focus on offense, as having more advanced offensive stuffs enable players to attack stronger bases. Moreover, the amount of time and workers needed to upgrade defensive infrastructures(as a whole, I'm not referring to a single building) is much more than that of the offensive stuffs, making it even less attractive to spend time in upgrading defensive stuffs. Honestly speaking, it's not that easy for a maxed offense player to clear a maxed defense base of the same Age if the defending base is designed properly.
With the introduction of the University, the Sniper Tower(esp when there are multiple Sniper Towers in the later Ages), the Stronghold(which allows the use of Troop Tactics on defense in WW) and the purchasable limited time Bazooka Tower(which is no doubt overpowered), the gap between offense and defense has already been significantly narrowed if not turned around.

Looking at other publicly accessible official and unofficial player-initiated DomiNations communities that I visit on a daily basis, I see very much the same scenario as here: a significantly much louder voice against the changes to Tactics than that of those that support.
@Nexon/BHG, I am really curious to know which and what community gave you the feedback that changes should be made to the Tactics? With such changes and the long overdue but still unsolved issue of mismatching and sandbagging in WW(the core feature of DomiNations), the game is becoming more and more unenjoyable if not unplayable for the majority of the players.

It's highly unlikely they will change their mind. For that to happen, someone at BHG/ Nexon has to admit they are wrong...

Instead, they will try to justify the the changes.

''You know what'll placate the player base? We haven't ran a Trade Mansa or Big Huge Loot event in a while!''

''Brilliant! This is why you're the head custodian! Speaking of, one of the toilets are clogged again.''

''I'm the only custodian...........''

''Which makes you head of the department. Go on now, on your bike. Come back if you have anymore brainstorms.''

Russian Community Guard Rus. We believe that this will complicate our lives, in a different tactic. Now it's not always possible to take the opponent higher than yourself for an era of 5 stars. With the innovation will be almost impossible. Although - time will tell. Challenges are good. It's very good if you can share video recordings of battles in the chat room! Especially since World War II! Good luck with your development -

The dumbest idea ..... wonder how many players will give up the game because of this? I rarely use tactics in multiplayer battles .... now I'll never use them. In war I'll be at a distinct disadvantage because of the ridiculous war matching ...... mmmmmm wonder why I even play this game anymore?

Seems like a very short sighted move to a game that is DESIGNED to have you constantly attack others. Raider armies will be the norm, no more peace treaties. Not very strategic for a strategy game.

I would like to see any proof ever of a mid industrial 5* a 230+ aa. Let me save you time. Even with troop tactics it wouldnt happen. The fact is, even the most advanced of alliances will tell you, in atomic, offense vs defense is fairly balanced at the moment. Only troop cards can really throw it off a little.

Pleas do not call me a liar.

Clearly the community feedback Nexon is supposedly getting isn't from Domination community. Great job on making it complete pay to win game.

Apparently he can't talk. But it means nothing after reviewing this patch and testing tactics put to replace sabotage. Simple. This dumbest idea ever.

I would like to add some more conditions.
A fully upgraded atomic age base and with bazooka tower and 4 troop tactics standing by in the stronghold. Nexon, please try to get 5 stars with 3 tactics only and tell everyone how easy it is.
