This is absolutely ridiculous. When I read this, I see that not only does this encourage sandbagging, it makes it more viable. Being able to routinely 5* bases 40-70 levels above me and usually not using coalitions in war, I don't think I will have problems 5*ing. It's just that this makes bagging so much more rewarding and bagging losers will have even more incentive to do it.
This was nearly the tipping point for me. I will be completely removing myself from all WW action for an indefinete time and not using the stupid alliance challenge feature.

Disclaimer: If you fix bagging, I would even accept 1 tactic only per WW attack. Will reward creative, talented and intelligent players more.

According to Nexon, matchmaking is fine for 95% of alliances... what are you all complaining about?

Wait, Nexon might not know what they are talking about? NO WAY!

I would absolutely welcome this tactic change if they fixed bagging.
Edit: I'm seriously nearly done with it at this point.

Umm, maybe it's just me, but the game is called ''DomiNations'' - aren't you supposed to encourage attacking?????
Most people who attack me use 2 or 3 tactics, which means they can get another attack in short succession, and I do the same. Now people will likely play less because tactics are going to be constantly cooking!
This is crazy Nexon, just crazy!
Instead of looking at your data, how about listening to your player base ??

What's next Nexon, Night Witch bombers going on sale so everyone steal 5k of my oil on a regular basis ??

The tactics idea is a very bad thing.
If someone invested a lot of time and recources to upgrade their defense, it is already difficult to get 5* on their base. There is no need in reducing the amount of tactics you are able to take with you.
You should better have pushed the other tactics we rarely use instead of upsetting the community. There is a reason why they are unused.
Why is the university boost for demolishion only 1% per point? A waste to skill it. I tested it with my Enlightment account, it does not help to take out higher mortars that have been marginally increased with the HP boost ... which btw gives 3% per point. I already skilled up to level 7, and still no remarkable change in the number of mortars that I get rid of when attacking.

What will the new update achieve?

1. Encourage bagging.PERIOD. Nothing more

It removes or severely removes a player's ability to hit above his weight. While this is NORMAL and should be EXPECTED, the current situation is that it will only help baggers. Why?

1. More tactics to use than an age lower. AA/GA vs IA for example (6 vs 5 tactics)
2. Troops an age up have more DPS and can pop TCs and defensive buildings way faster than troops down hitting an age up.
3. Troops an age up have more HP and thus can survive battles longer vs an age down defenses.

If this does not encourage more and more bagging, what will?!

I got a better idea find value in the defensive aspects of the game, how about we cut the upgrading times in halves and leave the tactics alone?

Waou what a stupid idea. So they don't play their game at all. It's not easy with my 5 tactics, i'm industrial, to 5* my opponent in war who are almost always high global or atomic. This game loses its fun update after update. Should we all move to another game?

Es that nexon the developer one already attack base level 180 or 200 when you are the same world all me very difficult fights and not give to all the players must be good If it is even more complicated with fewer tactics YOU CAN IMPOSSIBLE MORE MADE OF WARS already that a lot of player to give up is going to have even more totally nil. That it already balances the wars not based on global force disgust
f you want to have even less nexon player for your game continue as its even more will uninstall the game

3 tactics against L230 pay to win sandbag alliances?? The pay to winners will buy your cards to attack. Oh right....that's the reason isn't it? Cunning plan- and we all know what happens to cunning plans eh Baldrick? For the rest of us you just killed war and like plenty others are saying on this thread you might just have finally tipped people into looking for a new game. Challenge looks fun though

Bagging should count even at 10%. Simple as that. Then, you can roll this stupid update if you want and I will wholeheartedly embrace it. If EVERYBODY is on a level playing field, I'm all for it. But as it is, your definition of bagging and how we have been meeting teams with 4 baggers and them getting more glory than us is RIDICULOUS.

Fixing bagging would solve every issue. You could even make only 2 tactics bringable to war and I'll be a happy camper.

What I don't understand is, why now u want to balance the offense defense issue?
Can you explain us more detailed the reason? Can you tell us an example?
Also, I think there is a huge mistake to handle together war game/attack and multi attack.
If you want to balance the defense, then try to add more hp, more damage, more defenders, etc.
And try to cut the upgrade time. It's critical. Also, I think there is a mistake that an EA player cannot get air defense, they have only tower. At least one air defense would be so helpful.
In each ages, the first thing you can reach earlier is the offense units. Try to balance the defense buildings.

What i don't undestand also it is that they like talking weeks before what kind of new features they are going to introduce in their next update. They talked about the friendly challenge and stalemate solving solution but they kept hidden that crazy tactic catastrophe. What a bad behaviour.

They didn't keep it hidden, because here it is. This post is a design spotlight, not patch notes. The update could still be weeks away, for all we know.

It's reasons like this I stopped giving Nexon my money. Now I just use the Fyber offers to get my crowns, and I would never purchase troop tactics because it's simply a waste of money. I've spent £20 since December and got over 28,000 crowns for all that, an amount that would cost hundreds and hundreds of pounds otherwise. Keep on making your changes Nexon and BHG, more and more people will just start sidestepping you in defiance of your frankly appalling sales tactics.

The interesting thing about this is, I have never yet heard anyone complain about tactics being a problem, yet Nexon chooses to 'fix' this. Could it be that the game play (offence over defence) is something that is seen as an issue on the Asian server? The only way I can see to beat the sandbaggers is to up your game and 5* people much much bigger than you are. Mostly it doesn't work, sometimes it does, and it feels great! As a mid IA, I can 5* atomic if I execute it perfectly, using tactics and air and pray that the AI hasn't been on the wacky tabaccy. To take that away would completely ruin the game for me, not to mind making our biggest problem (sandbagging) a whole lot worse.
